Those Damn Disney Princesses!

Yes, you can blame them, all eight of them, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan. They are responsible, along with their male suitors, for teaching kids that heterosexuality is normal. Damn them to hell!

That is the findings of two noted "scientists" from the University of Michigan who spent several hundred thousand dollars (I'm sure we paid for it) researching the highest grossing G-rated films between 1990-2005. Let's be frank, they spent thousands watching children's films. How's that for a waste of Federal dollars?

There is even a whole new word!
Heteronormativity - representing heterosexuality as normal

Oh the horror! I guess we can overlook the 6,000 years of human history, of this generation, and the untold millions of examples of successful heterosexual relationships during this time in both reality and the arts. Instead we will focus on the less than 5% of the population who engages in alternative lifestyles and assume that they are in fact normal - they are the standard we should lift up in arts and entertainment.

"Despite the assumption that children's media are free of sexual content, our analyses suggest that these media depict a rich and pervasive heterosexual landscape," wrote researchers Emily Kazyak and Karin Martin, in a report published in the latest issue of the Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS) publication Gender & Society.

Honestly, I'm trying to picture Disney remaking Little Mermaid with Ariel and Ursula getting it on under the sea. Even as far left as Disney can be, I'm not seeing it. Plus, I don't see families flocking to the theater with their 5-year old girls to see it either.

The results, say the researchers, illustrate two ways that the children's films "construct heterosexuality": through "depictions of hetero-romantic love as exceptional, powerful, transformative, and magical," and "depictions of interactions between gendered bodies in which the sexiness of feminine characters is subjected to the gaze of masculine characters."

No, no, not that! Sexy female characters that attract the gaze of male characters. The nerve of some writers and directors. Don't they know how cool it would have been if Grandmother Willow complimented Pocahontas on her tight little (native American) body?

Pure love (agape) is very powerful because God is love. We reflect His love best in the husband/wife relationship. This mirrors his love for the Church. This love also comes with commitment, since there is no love without it. Romantic love (eros) is lust. Lust can lead to all sorts of problematic human interactions if it is not managed properly. These are all concepts that are challenging to a child. Why make it more difficult by introducing a cornucopia of alternatives to a 5 year old?

The SWS press release on the research blamed what they called the "old ideals" of romantic relationships, specifically those found the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, which in many instances inspired the films' storylines, for "such heavily gendered depictions and glorified portrayals of heterosexual relationships."

The team says the results point to heterosexuality achieving a "taken-for-granted status" "because hetero-romance is depicted as powerful."

"Both ordinary and exceptional constructions of heterosexuality work to normalize its status because it becomes difficult to imagine anything other than this form of social relationship or anyone outside of these bonds," they concluded.

"These films provide powerful portraits of a multifaceted and pervasive heterosexuality that likely facilitates the reproduction of heteronormativity."

The SWS press release concluded: "President Obama may have declared June to be Gay Pride Month, but entertainment for children therefore continues to perpetuate a less inclusive message, leaving those outside its confines with little to build their own dreams of happily ever after."

I'll ask my readers, some of which I know are parents. Should children be exposed to anything other than normal relationships at the ages that typically view Disney and G-rated films? Can't we just let them be kids and enjoy the story without pushing some hard-left, pro-gay message? I promise you if they attend public school or watch any movies or TV during their childhood they will receive all the alternative lifestyle indoctrination they can stomach. Do you really want to explain to a 5-year old why two dudes are making out on screen? They are facing enough challenges just with mom, dad, brother, sister and that crazy uncle that visits every Christmas.

For most of my lifetime feminists have attempted to emasculate boys, removing any fear of failure or desire to triumph. Competitive sports are reduced to where no score is kept and everyone gets a trophy. This creates a wimpy, unmotivated population destined for mediocrity.

Now, the radical gay agenda wants to teach our children that what they see in their parents and grandparents is not normal. Instead they need to seek out alternatives to be truly happy. And do we stop with homosexual couples? Why not polygamy? Its been practiced for centuries around the world. Bestiality can't be all bad either, can it? I hear NAMBLA is getting to be a pretty big outfit these days. We can't leave them out can we?

Definitely another sign of the approaching apocalypse.

Beware The Naked French Fry Thief...

In Langley, British Columbia (Canada) there was a woman waiting in the drive-through for her food from a Wendy's restaurant. As the food was being handed to her, a naked man ran through the drive-through and stole her fries.

As we speak, Canadian police are searching for the butt-naked bandit throughout the area.Police search for naked french fry thief

As humorous as this story was, I felt there was a deeper life lesson to be learned. After at least 10 minutes of relatively minor thought it came to me. This is a metaphor for life under Obama's liberal vision for America. Work with me here...

Customer - Represents all free Americans who through their hard work earn the right to spend their money for food or anything else that they desire. This "pursuit of happiness" was guaranteed by our founding documents.

Wendy's - Represents the free market - manufacturers, doctors, lawyers and anyone else who offers products or services for sale or trade.

The Naked Man - Represents liberals who are always ready to steal and deprive hard-working Americans of the fruits of their labors. No matter how much the customer wanted or needed those fries, liberals will not let her have them because they know better. They add insult by doing this brazen act while naked - out there for all the world to see. They don't care. The fries belong to them and they will do what they want with them - customer and business be damned. Everyone loses when the naked man is running free.

The Police - Represent the press, or as they are called now, the state run media. There might be some half-hearted efforts to locate the naked man, but it will never be a high priority. They are enablers and really have no desire to catch the naked man. They may be in fact cheering for him. In times past, reporters were watchdogs for freedom. Those days are gone. Now they are largely lapdogs and sycophants for the naked man.

What is the lesson to learn from all this? We must lock up the naked man before he causes any more damage. It starts with fries today, but tomorrow its your car, your job, your health care and all freedom. Eventually, the naked man will take away everything. He must be stopped before its too late.

Pray For Persia...

At this very moment in Iran, thousands of people are standing up for freedom. The Mullahs and their puppet president, Im a mad nut job, are cowering in fear at the looming overthrow of this very evil government that has terrorized this great country for 30 years. They have even imported foreign thugs from Syria and their terrorist puppets to attack their own people.

As a personal aside, I had a neighbor that grew up in Iran. He called it Persia and would never refer to it as Iran. His family left in 1979 after the islamic revolution brought an end to peace, prosperity and freedom that they had enjoyed previously. Not that everything was perfect, but there was religious tolerance and freedom that vanished under the islamic tyranny.

He often hoped that the people in Iran would once again enjoy freedom that he remembered from his childhood.Today, the people, fed up with the oppression, have taken to the streets. Hundreds have been killed or wounded.

If there was a time for the leader of the free world to stand up and support freedom, it is NOW. But Obama is nowhere to be found. In fact, in his statement on the issue, he said the following:

"When you've got 100,000 people who are out on the streets peacefully protesting, and they're having to be scattered through violence and gunshots, what that tells me is the Iranian people are not convinced of the legitimacy of the election. And my hope is that the regime responds not with violence, but with recognition that the universal principles of peaceful expression and democracy are ones that should be affirmed."

Wow! Way to stand up for freedom. Must not be to rough on those blood-thirsty dictators that have raped and murdered their own people, funded terrorism throughout the Middle East and threatened Israel with a nuclear destruction. Don't want to make the mullahs mad, I guess.

Let's contrast that to other great Presidential speeches confronting evil. Like another Democrat, although probably a Conservative by today's standards, at John F. Kennedy's inauguration he said this:

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

THAT is what America is all about. Confronting evil and promoting freedom throughout the world - for with freedom, comes peace.

From George Bush's axis of evil speech - one threat was removed, but two others remain, undeterred by our current leadership:

"America will lead by defending liberty and justice because they are right and true and unchanging for all people everywhere. No nation owns these aspirations, and no nation is exempt from them. We have no intention of imposing our culture -- but America will always stand firm for the non-negotiable demands of human dignity: the rule of law ... limits on the power of the state ... respect for women ... private property ... free speech ... equal justice ... and religious tolerance.

America will take the side of brave men and women who advocate these values around the world -- including the Islamic world -- because we have a greater objective than eliminating threats and containing resentment. We seek a just and peaceful world beyond the war on terror."

Words can change history. Words can inspire and build faith. Words can also prevent people from enjoying the God-given freedom that we've enjoyed for most of our history.Let's look at how words can change history.

For many of you, Ronald Reagan may be just a name in a history book. But there was no greater President during my lifetime. He is largely responsible for bringing an end to communism controlling most of Europe. And he accomplished this without a shot, simply a vision and a purpose that ALL men should be free.

"Are these the beginnings of profound changes in the Soviet state? Or are they token gestures intended to raise false hopes in the West, or to strengthen the Soviet system without changing it? We welcome change and openness; for we believe that freedom and security go together, that the advance of human liberty -- the advance of human liberty can only strengthen the cause of world peace.

There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace.

General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate.

Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev -- Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

You can see the speech and the read the text here. It is as powerful now as it was 23 years ago.

That was leadership. That was statesmanship. That is how you confront evil. That is what American leaders SHOULD proclaim to the oppressed people of the world!

Pray for Freedom and Peace In Persia (Iran).

Cap & Trade...

The Tax Foundation has come up with a nifty tool to estimate how much you will have to pay Al Gore to fight his global warming scam. You can calculate your own"contribution" right here. The sad thing is that all this money will be taken out of the economy and do NOTHING to change the climate.

Liberals are pushing hard for a government takeover of health care right now which is rather frightening. Health care is already screwed up precisely because government has its tentacles all over the industry. I saw this firsthand during my Father's final weeks.

But as scary as government run health care might be, the added taxes and regulation that would have to be created to fight "global warming" would be catastrophic. Every sector of the economy would be attacked. Every human activity would have to be monitored, regulated and taxed. There would be absolutely no freedom and no privacy in an Obama/Al Gore run war against the sun.

My annual donation to the Al Gore Enrichment Fund came to just under $1,000. By my estimates the annual government theft would come to over $250 billion stripped from the economy. Now if Obama and Al Gore could only figure out who to pay to make the sun not shine so much...

I Remember When Letterman Was Kind Of Funny...

Taking potshots at celebrities and government officials is what late night comedians do best. Politicians, especially Conservative ones, must grow thick skin in order not to get offended by the attacks and insults.

Last week, David Letterman crossed the line when he started talking about Sarah Palin. Sarah is a big girl and not easily rattled, so when Letterman put out a top ten list that accused her among other things of updating her "slutty flight attendant look" and making a coat out of rat pelts, it was in poor taste, but not too scandalous. But then he went on to imply that Alex Rodriguez knocked up Palin's 14-year old daughter during their trip to a Yankees game. If that wasn't bad enough, he followed up with a "joke" that accused john, Eliot Spitzer, was being serviced by Willow.

After the backlash, Letterman tried to make light of it and explain it as he meant to direct the joke towards Palin's older daughter - as if that made it less disgusting. It was this non-apology that put me over the edge. Rape of a child is never funny. But the fact that CBS has not said one peep or punished Letterman in any public way disturbed me greatly. The network has a responsibility to keep its talent in check when they go too far.

For the first time in my life I wrote a letter to a network demanding action. I followed this up with letters to advertisers and my local affiliate. I will not watch any CBS programming until very public action is taken to punish or remove Letterman from the network. I know this sounds extreme, but this Conservative bashing has gone way too far in this case. If Imus gets fired for his Rutgers girl's basketball team remark, Letterman must go. After all, Letterman is not live TV. They wrote the jokes, rehearsed them and still had an opportunity to edit the material before broadcast, but they chose not to do this.

Letterman's very long 15 minutes is finally over!

Liberalism Is Deadly...

Sometimes I just stumble across gems that have such clarity I must share on this blog.

This one is from Dambisa Moyo a Zambian economist, educated at Harvard and Oxford and a former employee of The World Bank and Goldman Sachs. In her book titled “Dead Aid" - Why Aid Is Not Working and How There Is a Better Way for Africa, she makes a great point on why all liberal programs fail.

However, there are many, many other reasons why giving or sending billion dollar packages in the form of US dollars, for example, into small economies is very harmful. For example, you can see why having that kind of money flying into a country makes the government less inclined to raise money through other sources of capital because they have this steady flow of permanent income, what they perceive as permanent income coming in.

The government develops what I call a ‘Lazy muscle’ and this breeds dependency which means that governments are not focused on actually building up other sources of capital such as the private sector which is important for growth. In particular it’s no surprise that things like education, health care, infrastructure, and even security are now being provided to Africa from outsiders and that leaves a situation where African governments have a questionable role – what is the role for African governments when they are not responsible for those things.

This works on the individual level as well. Imagine you are a farmer in Africa who borrows money for seed, works the land to raise a crop and sell, only to see pallets of "free" food dumped in your country. What incentive is there to work hard or "pull yourself up" is there in these conditions?

Now consider America's never ending "war on poverty". We've spent trillions trying to "help the poor" and we have generations of families no better off than before the war started. Government agencies will pay for housing, education, food, health care and now even mobile phones!

Why would I want to lift a finger to get myself a job when it is more advantageous to stay home and breed? The liberals don't care because as long as they have you stuck on their "liberal plantation" they assure themselves an angry voter who will keep electing liberals promising even more handouts.

Without any incentive to create, learn or grow, the inner cities simply deteriorate into third world slums with more and more dependent people waiting on their government check. What a waste of human potential.

But if you offer an incentive like vouchers that allow students to flee corrupt and failing public schools, and encourage business, churches and individuals to take on the task for educating future leaders, suddenly you have improved the lives of millions of children, parents and all of society. We might finally break the cycle of failure and dependence that has plagued this country since liberals first came to power.

If we raise the expectations that independence is both noble and expected, you might see more people finding jobs, creating jobs and seeking their own way out of poverty.

But as long as you keep handing out everything, you will kill any desire to be independent and condemn another generation to the liberal plantation.

Relatives Say The Darndest Things...

In an interview with Spiegel, a German magazine, Obama's Uncle, the one that supposedly liberated Auschwitz, had some interesting things to say about politics in the age of Obama. You can see the article here: Obama's Uncle: He's Using Buchenwald for Political Purpose.

Here is part of a final quote at the end of the story:

“I am puzzled by intelligent people who stand by and allow their country to be taken over and run by extreme radical types,” Payne said.

Strangely, I agree with his wonder. It is amazing a country with the freedom and educational opportunities we have, would fall victim to radical socialists.

Excellent Article...

Liberals throughout the world want to blame the existence of Israel for all the Muslim terrorism in the world. But the attacks and persecution of Jews in Muslim countries has been happening since islam was first conjured up.

This is an excellent summary of the various pogroms that targeted Jews in muslim lands dating back long before there was even a possibility of a Jewish state. I encourage you to read it. You can learn much about the present from the past...

Here is a short excerpt, and then the link.

Close to a million Jews lived in Arab countries at the time of the establishment of the State of Israel. Just a few live there today. Most left because they suffered from pogroms and the threat to their lives. It was a crueler expulsion than the one suffered by the Arabs of Palestine, who paid the price for the declarations of war and annihilation made by their leaders. Even the Jewish property that was confiscated or abandoned as a result of the expulsion is more valuable than the Arab property that remained in Israel.

Various investigators have tried to estimate the value of the confiscated Jewish property following the forced departure of the Jews from Arab countries, compared with the Arab property left in Israel following the forced departure of the Arabs. Economist Sidney Zabludoff, an international expert in the field, estimates that the value of the Arab property is $3.9 billion, compared with the value of the Jewish property which is $6 billion (at 2007 values).

History Repeats...

This will be a short blog. I have linked to an article written in 1993 by Benjamin Netanyahu, the current President of Israel. It is an excerpt from a book written about Czechoslovakia's betrayal by the western powers to Germany just before World War 2. The parallels are amazing.

Here is a short excerpt:

Like Czechoslovakia, Israel is a small democracy with a powerful army much aided by defensive terrain. Like the Sudeten district, the West Bank is mountainous territory, a formidable military barrier that guards the slender and densely populated Israeli shoreline and Israel's capital city.

Like the Germans, the Arabs understand that as long as Israel controls these mountains, it will not be overrun. They understand too that a military campaign to seize these mountains is at present unthinkable, and that Israel's removal from them can be achieved only by the application of irresistible political pressure by the West on Israel to withdraw.

The Arab regimes have therefore embarked on a campaign to persuade the West that these Arab inhabitants of these mountains (like the Sudeten Germans, comprising roughly a third of the total population) are a separate people that deserve the right of self-determination - and that unless such self-determination is granted, the Arab states will have no choice but to resort to war to secure it.

As in the case of Czechoslovakia, Israel's insistence on not parting with territories strategically vital for its defenses is presented as the obstacle to peace.

Echoing Munich, the Arabs repeatedly advocate "active" American (and European) involvement, in the hope that an American Chamberlain can be found to force "the intransigent party" to capitulate where it is otherwise unwilling to compromise its own security. (my emphasis)
Lessons from the Sudetenland

The muslims have found that American in our current President. His bumbling foreign policy missteps, and unwillingness to confront evil in the world, puts our best friend and ally in the Middle East in a very dangerous position.

I encourage you to take a look and think about what the West wants in the Middle East and what the ramifications for these actions would be for Israel's ability to defend itself.

And of course, always pray for the peace of Israel.

Republican Succes Formula

Even though I have voted for Republican candidates for most of my adult life, I would never classify myself as one. Why? Its simple. Republicans have generally been less of a threat to freedom than the Dhimmirats. But they are often, as in the case of John McCain, liberal-lites, or the lesser of two evils.

When a Republican is suggesting that government should get more involved in health care or tax energy to stop "global warming", or that we need more gun laws, or "fairness" in the media, they are not supporting traditional Republican positions, and certainly not Conservative values. These are all Dhimmirat issues, and like Arlen Specter, politicians with these positions probably need to accept that they are in fact liberals and belong with the Dhimmirats.

I am a Conservative. To me that means: small government + lower taxes + strong defense = more freedom. Many issues fall under this formula. Recognizing that the Constitution is law and not just helpful suggestions is one. Limiting the power and scope of the Federal government and keeping taxes and regulation to a minimum to maintain a vibrant and growing economy are two others. Defending this country from threats here and abroad is probably the most important. I mean you can't have much freedom if islamic kamikazes are flying planes into buildings.

Lots of talking heads have been giving Republicans advice on how to win. Many of these so-called Republicans call themselves "moderates" as if fence sitting is something noble. We have seen what happens when liberal Republicans run for President just last year. McCain is as close as you can get to being a Dhimmirat and he lost in spite of having one of the best VP candidates in the modern history of elections.

Reagan did attract lots of people to him because he focused on issues that do matter: smaller government, defending the nation and lower taxes. Most Americans can agree those are the most important issues to our freedom and security. So my formula for success is easy. Focus on the issues that we all can agree on, which will be really easy after seeing the alternative these next 4 years.

Republican Formula For Success
Small Government + Lower Taxes + Strong Defense
= Freedom & Prosperity For All

Questions For Big Al Gore...

In your propaganda film, you argued of an imminent loss of oceanfront due to dramatically rising water levels. If that is true, why did you purchase an expensive oceanfront condo in San Francisco?

How is man, who accounts in any appreciable density for less than 1% of the entire earth's volume, capable of changing the GLOBAL climate more than the sun, oceans, earth core, volcanic activity or any of a hundred other much greater climate influences?

Why has the IPCC report been so horribly wrong in its predictions of escalating temperatures when in fact global temperatures have been steadily declining this decade?

How can the "global warming" debate be over if there never has been one? How can there be consensus when 30,000 scientists (and growing) disagree with the IPCC and your fanatical chicken little predictions?

Why are you so afraid to debate the Viscount Monckton of Brenchley on this most important topic. Why did you prevent Congress from allowing this most distinguished former science advisor to the British government to testify in opposition?

If the cap and trade nonsense is passed, how much more will you personally earn profiteering from this hoax?

In the face of imminent disaster from "global warming", how do you sleep at night with energy use that is 20 times the average household and with an irresponsible lifestyle that in no way sets the standard you would impose on most Americans if your punishing energy taxes were passed?

TEA Party Protest - Update

The numbers and repoted events keep coming in. The lastest numbers show over 901 events in all 50 states. At minimum, over 780,000 people attended, with estimates as high as 916,000! You can follow the tabulation here.

Why as the national media largely ignored or dismissed these numbers? To have nearly a million people protesting in the midlle of the week is impressive. Imagine what those numbers might have been on a weekend or with better planning and coordination between all the grassroot organizers.

If I were liberal or a liberal-lite politician, I would be concerned about my future in politics. People are getting very tired of big, oppressive government!

The Creator, Not That Which Is Created...

Today, April 22 is Earth Day 2009. The date coincides with that noted lover of freedom and Christianity, Vladimir Lenin. Obviously, the date selection was pure coincidence. The anti-freedom and anti-Christian messages throughout Earth Day and the radical environment movement cannot be ignored. The Earth was created by God for man. It is not to be worshiped or given reverential terms like "mother earth" or venerated as the early pagan religions and now the creators of Earth Day.

If the day focuses on conservation and being good stewards of the Earth's resources, everyone can participate. When we deviate into the Al Gore, "man is destroying the earth" nonsense, I will not participate. I will not worship at the altar of a secular religion. Either you believe in a loving Creator or you don't. And when you don't believe in God, you become a puppet for evil forces. There is good and evil, there are no categories in between - choose wisely.

Whenever I hear those folks who like to blame man for global warming or predicting catastrophic changes in sea levels, I remember the exchange between God and Job in the Bible. Job had been getting really bad advice from his friends, questioning the ways of the Lord. God intervenes and begins to ask Job about His creation.

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?

“Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and wrapped it in thick darkness? For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’

Job 38:4-11 NLT

We have gained substantial knowledge on how the earth works, but we are still far from understanding every intricate detail, especially when it comes to climate science. I am sure of one thing, God does good work. The earth is not in any danger from man. Frankly, we would have a tough time "destroying the planet" even if we tried.

For most of my life I have been hearing doomsday predictions and one manufactured crisis after the other. The purpose is to sow fear (who do you suppose is behind that) and change policy to place our lives more completely under government control. I love the Lord and He loves me. I will never act in fear.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 1:1-5 NIV (my emphasis)

The Word, or Light of men, is Jesus who is also Truth. When you know the Truth, you can live a life free from fear. Something to meditate on today.

Happy CREATOR DAY!!

Tea party Update...

I have been helping some folks gather actual numbers for the various Tea Parties this week and the numbers are phenomenal. Early reports were suggesting about 250,000 people participated. That number is falling way short of actual numbers. We are now over 629 cities with a low estimate of 690,000 and high end estimate of 797,000. You can check the numbers here for the running tally.

These are all based on media accounts, signatures or eyewitness testimony. This is why the range is employed to account for any "liberalization" of the results. Remember the "million man march" where "400,000" people suddenly tripled? Heck that's nothing, if you put two union members, a handful of angry code pink feminazis, an anarchist or two and a couple of alternative lifestyle types together, CNN would estimate the crowd in the thousands. They would probably go with 24/7 coverage as well. What a joke that network has become.

Anyway, I was working on Texas and found that the rallies were not only widespread, but very deep as well. From small towns, to counties and everything in between, the reach of this event was amazing. Places like Gilmer, Texas, heretofore known mainly for its celebration of the yam, had 250 people at the courthouse making their dissatisfaction with the current administration known!

And the liberal astroturfers are getting paid overtime to add their two cents to every media story comment section. I know exactly what all their rage is about. They have owned the protest meme for so long and can't handle the fact that ordinary, hard working folks aren't willing to be steamrolled anymore. I laughed out loud when I read them trying to defend Obama's spending like a drunken sailor. Yes, massive deficit spending will certainly spur the economy. Got to keep those ACORN types employed and out of crime, right?

Its a shame what the public school system has done to the average American's intelligence. Economics should be brought back to the High Schools. Unfortunately, with teacher unions and government educrats firmly in charge, I would be scared to see what they would actually teach. Maybe they could start with crowd estimation and then segue into where government gets its money. That would be real a hoot.

50 Reasons To Leave The Global Warming Religion...

Christopher Monckton lays the smack down on the global warming nuts in a letter to Congress. In it, he enumerates 50 issues (or Red Flags) that raise serious questions about testimony heard by Congress on this most important issue. It is lengthy, but worth a read. Here is the link and some highlights (emphasis is mine):

From the intro...

However, my notes of the hearing indicate that certain national and international executive agencies may have materially, serially, seriously, and successfully misled your Congress for several years about the imagined extent, anthropogenic component, and effects of “global warming”.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, in his farewell address to the nation in 1961, gave a warning “that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.”

He said –“Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. ... The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.”

Nearly all of your nation’s scholars and scientists owe their primary livelihood to the involuntary generosity of the taxpayer. Some of your rent-seeking, scientific-technological elite, taking willful and shameless advantage of the taxpayer’s largesse and of the scientific illiteracy that is now widespread, are mightily enriching themselves by misleading your Congress into appropriating disproportionately large sums to permit them to address the non-problem of anthropogenic “global warming".

1. Global temperature has been falling rapidly for seven full years: however, this fact appears to have been kept from the Committee, and the director of an agency whose own global-temperature dataset clearly shows the seven-year decline repeatedly failed to admit when questioned by the Committee that there have indeed been seven full years of global cooling, raising the question why, on the central issue of the rate at which “global warming” is or is not occurring, the official was reluctant to admit the seven-year cooling that his own agency’s global-temperature dataset plainly shows.

10. In one of nine serious “errors” identified by a UK High Court Judge in Al Gore’s movie An Inconvenient Truth, it is suggested that in the palaeoclimate it was CO2 concentration that changed before global temperature, when in fact it was temperature that changed before CO2 concentration, raising the question why Congress (and Her Majesty’s Government) still treats Gore as though he were a ranking expert on “global warming”.

34. The senior official who testified before the Committee said in his testimony that “global warming” would cause various catastrophes, including sea-level rise, ocean acidification, changes in rainfall, increased frequency and intensity of extreme-weather events such as heatwaves, coastal storms, droughts and heavy downpours, coastal erosion and inundation, changes in crop yields and ocean productivity and in climate-related diseases and pests, raising the question why he did not cite Schulte (2008), who found that of 539 papers containing the search phrase “global climate change” and published since the beginning of 2004 not one had offered any evidence for any catastrophe arising from “global warming”.

35. Professor Nils-Axel Moerner, who has published 520 papers on sea-level rise, concluded in a 2004 study of the Maldives that there had been no sea-level rise there for 1250 years, and that global sea level in the 21st century would rise by 8 inches, as it did in the 20th century, raising the question how the chairman of the Committee had been misled – perhaps by officials – into the belief that sea-level rise, particularly in the Maldives, would be likely to occur in a dangerous degree as a result of “global warming”.

50. Carbon dioxide concentration has been up to 20 times today’s levels in the palaeoclimate, and yet the creatures of the ocean survived and flourished, which they could not have done if the higher carbon dioxide concentration had appreciably acidified the oceans, raising the question how a member of the Committee had been misled into believing that current geologically-low concentrations of carbon dioxide could cause any appreciable or dangerous acidification of the oceans, which remain pronouncedly alkaline and contain 70 times as much carbon dioxide as the atmosphere.

And my favorite nugget...

37. In 2005, in An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore predicted that sea level would rise imminently by 20 feet, inundating coastlines worldwide, leading a UK High Court Judge to find that “the Armageddon scenario that he depicts is not based on any scientific view”, raising the question why in 2005 he spent $4m on a condo in the St. Regis Tower, San Francisco, just feet from the ocean at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Al Gore. Although almost any liberal could share the title.

Monckton covers almost every issue pertaining to this debate. As you know, literally everything has been blamed on global warming from more storms to more tropical diseases. He touches on most of these and refutes some of the nonsense being pushed by the left.

There are many reasons I dismissed the whole "global warming" crap. Having lived through the 70s ice age scare, taught me a valuable lesson on how bad science can be used to push public policy. But even more important is my understanding of how significantly large and intricate the earth, its oceans and atmosphere are, coupled with the influence of that great big yellow ball in the sky, make it laughable to think that mankind could even change the climate if he tried!

It boggles my mind that ANYONE can take someone like Al Gore seriously on such an important issue. While he is preaching fear, he is completely ignoring his own warnings of coming doom by investing in waterfront property. And while enriching himself from these scare tactics, he does nothing to change his own behavior or reduce his own "carbon footprint".

The final straw was the race to impose draconian taxes to "stop global warming". This religion is not about saving the planet. It is simply a power play. Through new confiscatory taxation, liberals intend to control energy and therefore control mankind.

They have gone way past their 15 minutes.

OMG! Its A Bug!

CIA interrogation tactics: a terrifying ordeal

This linked article is a pity party for how mean we are to terrorists. We slap them, deprive them of sleep and spray some water on them. And at one point, we were going to surround one terrorist with caterpillars. Oh the horror!

Here is some simple advice for would-be terrorists. If you don't want to endure of few fraternity-like "tortures," don't freakin' become a terrorist!

And for those liberals all in tears over these poor mistreated terrorists, these same guys would slice your throat in a heartbeat - probably even faster if you are Jewish, Christian or gay. Something to think about when pining for these murderers.

What's A Tea Party?

The mainstream media missed the story of the day. Or perhaps they purposely ignored the largest news story of the year. Yesterday, in 800+ cities across this great nation, hundreds of thousands of ordinary people said enough. They were tired of the bailouts, wasteful spending, supporting criminal organizations like ACORN and ever increasing taxes. They know that the biggest reason for the financial meltdown is government interference - especially by the Democrat leadership who took hundreds of thousands in "contributions" from the very banks they have now bailed out. Giving Democrats the power to "fix" things is just compounding a monumental mistake.

You see, ordinary people are not dumb. No matter how many media elites and Washington politicians would like to dismiss the masses, they know the difference between socialism and freedom. The current administration and ruling class in Washington is on a fast track to europeanization of our once great country. And patriotic Americans will not let that happen.

These weren't your typical "rent-a-mob" of paid leftists. There was no George Soros pulling the strings to orchestrate these protests. This was a true grass roots movement. Heck, in my birthplace, Longview, Texas, a quiet city in East Texas, over a thousand gathered to protest. I lived there 18 years and my Father another 26 years beyond that. Nothing like that had EVER happened there to my recollection.

There was a protest in Dallas and in nearly every suburb in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. Texans are familiar with oppression having fought and won our freedom from a ruthless Mexican dictator. We joined the union to enjoy the freedom promised by Uncle Sam. Texans have fought and died in countless wars. We have sacrificed in many ways to do our part to make this country better.

But as Washington becomes more oppressive in its demands, secession is always a possible solution, as many speakers made clear at most of these rallies. If real change doesn't come to Washington, that will be the final alternative. Texas, or any American for that matter, does not deserve to live under the tyranny of a corrupt and bankrupt government. But we will not leave without a fight. This country deserves better than the liberal lunacy that now infests Washington.

The left was in overdrive trying to discredit the movement. Obama's Department of Homeland Insecurity released an advisory stating that right-wing extremists or returning veterans might have the potential to cause violence. From this highly offensive report put out with the blessing of the White House:

Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

Literally every Conservative could at some point be called potential threats by this "advisory." Does this sound like the "change" you believe in? Actually it sounds much more like the Soviet Union or Cuba. All we need now is ACORN or Obama's brown-shirted hoodlums rounding all us evil Conservatives up for eradication or re-education. There was no mention of the many terrorists and terrorist sympathizers currently working in and with this administration.

The mainstream media largely ignored the events or tried to discredit them in their own way. One CNN reporterette made her liberal bias so profoundly obvious - as if we really need more evidence. See if you can spot the "angry" protesters and the "unbiased" reporterette.

Did you catch her DEFENDING the White House, claiming that Illinois gets $50 billion in payola and the taxpayer should be happy about that? Susan, sweetheart, who do you think has to pay for that?

Susan Roesgen is the reporterette's name. And if she is not immediately fired for this completely unprofessional display, she should at least be reprimanded. But this is not the first time Susan Roesgen has displayed her "professionalism."

There is a good reason why I stopped watching CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and reading the New York Times and other leftist media years ago. They are nothing more than propaganda arms of the Democrat party. The irony is that many "professionals" in the industry aren't even willing to admit that just maybe their reporting is biased. As their viewership/readership continues to crash, maybe they will finally wake up and realize that they do have an important role in society. And it is not to promote a leftist agenda.

Regardless of the stupidity of the left, the right is mobilized and energized. Hopefully, strong Conservative leaders will emerge and lead us out of the pit of liberal hell which Obama and friends have taken us.

UPDATE: Founding Bloggers has video taken of our favorite CNN reporterette after the hit piece.

It Takes A Village...

A quick review of President Obama's weekly radio address.

These are two very different holidays with their own very different traditions. But it seems fitting that we mark them both during the same week.

Both holidays celebrate and remember God's deliverance from oppression. For the Jews, freedom from the oppression of slavery in Egypt. For all mankind, Easter celebrates freedom from satanic oppression by the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus. You would think Obama was talking about Kwanzaa, or some other invented holiday by his generic "non offensive" description.

An unsustainable dependence on foreign oil and other sources of energy that pollute our air and water and threaten our planet.

Uh, Mr. President, we have PLENTY of oil reserves in the United States to last us well into the next century. What we do not have is a willingness to allow exploration and extraction of the bountiful resources God has blessed us with. The planet is not in danger from mankind. It was here before us, and will be here long after we're gone.

These are challenges that no single nation, no matter how powerful, can confront alone. The United States must lead the way. But our best chance to solve these unprecedented problems comes from acting in concert with other nations.

It does not take a village to confront the threats we face here and abroad. It takes LEADERSHIP and RESOLVE, something that seems missing in Washington at present. There really is NOTHING America can't accomplish, as we have proven so many times in the past.

It is only by coordinating with countries around the world that we will stop the spread of the world’s most dangerous weapons. That is why I laid out a strategy in Prague for us to work with Russia and other nations to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons; to secure nuclear materials from terrorists; and, ultimately, to free the world from the menace of a nuclear nightmare.

You have resigned yourself to accept a nuclear Iran as indicated in your overtures. You did nothing while North Korea tested a long range missile. And now you would have us rid ourselves of our own nuclear deterrent? While some of the most dangerous regimes in the world are creating nuclear and biological weapons, you have cut our missile defense budget and suggested we should disarm ourselves. Isn't your primary job as POTUS to protect and DEFEND the United States?

Instead, we have to find – and build on – our mutual interests. For it is only when people come together, and seek common ground, that some of that mistrust can begin to fade. And that is where progress begins.

Honestly, I see no common ground between peace-loving Americans and suicidal Islamic terrorists. Maybe instead of beheading us, they shoot us? I'm really not sure where our compromise position is with people striving to destroy us.

And if we can do that, then not only will we fulfill the sacred meaning of these holy days, but we will fulfill the promise of our country as a leader around the world.

Leader of the free world? A country currently held hostage by a bunch of Islamic thugs in a dingy? A country that is willingly to sell out our allies in the Middle East by allowing a terrorist supporting regime to develop nuclear weapons? A country whose leaders have financially broken our nation through excessive interference in the financial/mortgage industries and then mortgaged our financial future by spending money, that we don't have, like drunken sailors - no offence to drunken sailors intended.

Two Stories...

Story #1
Shriners hospitals, which have provided free care since before the Great Depression, are considering closing a quarter of their facilities as donations stagnate, costs increase and the charity's endowment shrivels.
Facing hard times, Shriners may close 6 hospitals

Story #2
The center looked at how the proposals Mr. Obama released on Thursday would have affected giving based on 2006 data showing how much taxpayers deducted for charitable contributions. It said that if Mr. Obama’s tax plan had been in effect, Americans with incomes of $250,000 or more would have decreased their giving by 4.6 percent or nearly $3.9-billion. People at that income level claimed more than $81-billion in charitable gifts in 2006.
Obama's Tax Plan Could Cause Giving by the Wealthy to Drop by Several Billion Dollars Annually

Now what in the wide, wide, world do these two stories have to do with each other?

It points out the idiocy of government trying to run health care. There are plenty of private charities and religious organizations that do their part to offer free or inexpensive health care. Instead of finding ways to encourage a private sector solution to health care expense, Obama would prefer to run those types completely out of business by choking off their donations!

If anything, the charitable benefit should be expanded. More donations flowing to churches, charities and nonprofits would allow them to enter and expand into education, welfare and health care, reducing the dependence on inefficient and corrupt government bureaucrats.

Instead of hope and change, we get more of the same pathetic government "solutions."

Good Friday...

Good Friday remembers the day Jesus was nailed to the cross over 2,000 years ago. He gave his life freely for mankind. Numerous times authorities tried to arrest, stone or toss him off of a cliff, but failed because it wasn't his time. When the time came, he willingly endured the torture, shame and pain of the cross.

Crucifixion is no picnic. You essentially suffocate unless there are other factors. While Jesus was on the cross he took on all of mankind's sin, sickness and the full curse of the Law. He would pay the price that nobody else could pay.

Even during his last moments, his thoughts were on helping people - forgiving his tormentors, providing for his mother and assuring the repentant thief beside him.

Darkness covered the land and the earth shook. The veil of the temple was ripped from the top to the bottom. It was not needed anymore. Humans would now be God's Temple. Even to the jaded Centurion who witnessed Jesus' death, it was obvious that Jesus was a righteous man wrongly crucified.

His followers placed his body in a tomb. Remembering his many prophecies, the Jewish leaders insisted on placing guards and sealing the tomb. That would not matter.

For the next two days, Jesus endured the full penalty for mankind. He had died physically, but just as there were two sacrifices (lamb and scapegoat), Jesus had to endure the spiritual separation from God for two nights and then destroy the power of the enemy.

The morning of the third day, the guards were startled to see the power of God roll away the stone and Jesus leave the tomb. He appeared to his followers for several days - teaching and explaining what his resurrection really meant. On the road to Emmaus, he took two followers through the Bible to show them how he had fulfilled all the promises and prophecies.

He finally ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God. He has delegated his power and authority to all who believe in him and waits to return and gather his followers.

This was not just a good man. He was either the Son of God as he claimed or a loon. He has given you his Word. You can either accept the message or reject it. Remember, hell was not created for humans. It was created for Satan and the rebellious angels. God never intends for any human to enter hell - unless they choose to go there by rejecting His Son.

Sometimes I get excited about what is happening in the world or in Washington. Its nice to remember that God is in control. He is my source and my provider. As a believer, I am called to pray for our leadership and cast my vote as a seed - expecting a good harvest. The only way things will really change is by Christians everywhere to exercise their faith and get Godly people into office - people with integrity, honor and filled with God's wisdom.

This nation was founded by men and women like that. And its time they return to power.

When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Proverbs 29:2 NIV

History Repeats...

Shortly after the United States became a nation it was forced to deal with the Barbary Pirates attacking US ships in the Mediterranean sea. Strangely, these were also Muslim fanatics and felt compelled by their religion and "prophet" to raid, pillage, enslave and hold hostages for ransom.

At first, the new nation followed Europe's lead and paid the tribute and ransoms. Eventually, President Jefferson sent the now larger and better prepared US Navy to end the threat.

I know President Obama claims we are not at war with Islam. But it would seem that Islam has been at war with us since the beginning of this nation. There were of course periods of relative peace. But based on all the attacks since 1979: Iran hostages, Marine Barracks - Lebanon, embassy bombings, kidnappings/murders, USS Cole, WTC and 9/11, you would think we are facing more than "man-caused disasters."

In Obama's latest 3 a.m. test, Somali pirates attacked a US-flagged ship. In classic American style, the crew fought back and freed the ship and only the captain remains a prisoner. The US Navy is now nearby and negotiations are underway.

Obama has been largely quiet on the issue and Hillary Clinton had a cryptic cackling episode while calling the behavior "criminal."

I'm not really sure what is funny about fanatic pirates holding American hostages. And I am certain that the act of piracy is not a "criminal activity." It is an act of war and should be treated as such. Its time for America to take the gloves off and end the threat once and for all.

Obviously, I don't expect this administration to take this approach. I'm sure we will sit down and negotiate a fair ransom price. Maybe Obama can go over and pay homage to the warlords like he did to his Saudi Arabian master. I would also expect him to give a biting speech on how bad America has been and blame us for everything wrong in the world.

Big Al's Got Some Splainin' To Do...

From NASA yesterday:

Since the 1890s, surface temperatures have risen faster in the Arctic than in other regions of the world. In part, these rapid changes could be due to changes in aerosol levels. Clean air regulations passed in the 1970s, for example, have likely accelerated warming by diminishing the cooling effect of sulfates.

You can read all the details at the link, but basically all those aerosol products that the left DEMANDED that we stop producing in the 70s, are now likely the cause of increased temperatures in the arctic. Another in a long line of liberal unintended consequences such as more malaria after DDT was demonized and excessive water use by forced conversion to "low flow" toilets.

It should be obvious to those paying attention that "global warming," or climate change, is the least understood field in science. There are so many conflicting reports and assumptions that any actions taken by governments to stop "global warming" are futile at best and economically devastating at worst. This does not mean that anyone advocates polluting the planet. Commonsense actions to reduce pollution can be undertaken without destroying the economy or industry, and without the help of massive government regulations.

Big Al needs to fold up his "cap and trade" play set and go home. The greatest scam the world has ever known is rapidly falling apart.

It's The Taxes, Stupid...

The Detroit News recently published a story, Leaving Michigan Behind: Eight-year population exodus staggers state lamenting the fact that so many people were leaving Michigan. Most of the departures include the most highly educated and highest wage earners. The people quoted were whining about declining tax revenue and less Federal dollars for education.

What these knuckleheads don't seem to get, is the smart people know when they are getting screwed. Why should I be taxed at draconian levels to pay for everyone else to sit on their bum? Michigan has some of the highest tax rates in the country. Coupled with a heavy union population, no business in their right mind would ever relocate there.

You have had near complete Democrat control for decades with Michigan being a reliable blue state since 1992. Which means each candidate promises voters even more goodies from the treasury of the hard working types. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why the taxpayers are fleeing Michigan and just about every other blue state.

It really is so simple. You lower taxes, lessen regulation and get government out of people's way, and the economy booms. And even though taxes are lower, you end up collecting more revenue than you would have with higher rates that everyone finds ways to avoid. This works on the county, state and federal level. Lower taxes always produces more growth.

But here is the key, you cannot, like typical liberals, start spending like drunken sailors. If too much revenue is coming in, taxes need to be lowered again. You never take in or spend more than necessary for basic government functions. You don't create layers and layers of departments and bureaucrats for taxpayers to support. Government workers are a net drain to the economy and merely make life more miserable for private citizens. And you definitely don't get into the charity business and steal from one to give to someone else too lazy to get a job.

Earth Hour...

Ah yes, today is the day we are supposed to shut off our lights and imitate those 3rd world nations that lack basic necessities of life. It does not matter the stress we place on the electrical grid. It doesn't matter that we are blessed with ample resources to produce more than 100x the electricity that we actually need.

No, none of that matters. Because we care. We care so much we are willing to live like the Bushmen of the Kalahari, well, for at least an hour anyway. And what will this accomplish? Not a damn thing. But a few raving mad socialists will feel like they did something. Just like those wristbands and ribbons worn by the fashionable, symbolism feels so much better than actually doing something that matters.

And what really makes all this laughable is that it is suppose to raise awareness for "global warming" even though the climate has been cooling for over a decade. But, there are still idiots in Washington that believe little ol' mankind is capable of changing the climate on this massive planet. What arrogance you must have to believe that man can change the climate, and even worse, that he could reverse the process.

Ignore that giant yellow ball in the sky. Ignore gravity, the magnetic fields, geothermal changes in the earth's core, volcanoes, solar radiation, the other 96% of greenhouse gasses that exist naturally, instead let's single out mankind and blame him.

So in honor of this wonderful hour, I give you my song Earth Hour, sung to the tune of Earth Angel.

Earth Hour,
Earth Hour,
I will be blind!
My darling dear,
In darkness confined.
I'm just a fool,
A fool who's being screwed.

Earth Hour,
Earth Hour,
And Big Al Gore,
Love him forever
And evermore.
He's just a fool,
A fool without a clue.

The Dumbest Editorial I Have Ever Read....

E.J. Dionne is your typical socialist. He's a Hawvawd man and his political views are somewhere between Valdimir Lenin and Kim Jong-il. In Investor's Business Daily today, he penned an editorial titled Brave Leaders Will Set Stage For Tax Hikes. If you feel the need to feel dumber, or angrier, by all means click on the link. Here is the first paragraph:

The debate on the budget is phony, the howling on deficits a charade. Few politicians want to acknowledge that if you really are concerned about long-term deficits, you have to support tax increases.

Notice, in EJs mind the only way to reduce the deficit is tax increases. No mention of cutting the budget. Not even a hint at lowering taxes to spur economic growth and of course create more tax revenue. All of America is cutting back and spending less, but in Washington that is never considered an option. Why is that?

Obama plans a budget that dwarfs anything in the history of the Republic so now we have to raise taxes to pay for it? Why not just cut the budget? Does ACORN really need billions? Do we need all these bailouts? Does government really need to waste more money on unproven alternative fuels? Shouldn't Congressional pay and benefits be aligned with private sector pay (minimum wage based on their performance lately)?

He then goes on to pine for leaders "brave" enough to raise taxes. Are your freakin' kidding me?

And finally, he applauds Obama's move to cut back the charitable giving tax benefit? Frankly, we need to increase it! Get churches and charities more contributions and I bet you see less need for welfare, public schools and government assistance. Its a novel thought to someone obsessed with turning the United States government into some sort of sick, cradle-to-grave nanny state.

EJ - There is nothing brave about raising taxes. The truly brave thing would be to stand your ground and refuse to spend one penny more than what you take in. Its called fiscal responsibility. Look into it.

And EJ, if taxes were lowered and more revenue came in (which always happens), you make sure you lower the tax rate, or return excess funds to the people. I’m not holding my breath with the current crop of clowns that any of this would ever even be considered. But that would definitely be the BRAVE and RIGHT thing to do.

When Will Government Have To Sacrifice?

I did not watch Obama's press conference. I find it much more interesting to read the transcript. This is a good way to look for substance and ignore the "style" or lack thereof.

Early in the PC, a reporter asked this question:

Thank you, Mr. President. Some have compared this financial crisis to a war, and in times of war past Presidents have called for some form of sacrifice. Some of your programs, whether for Main Street or Wall Street, have actually cushioned the blow for those that were irresponsible during this -- during this economic period of prosperity, or supposed prosperity that you were talking about. Why, given this new era of responsibility that you're asking for, why haven't you asked for something specific that the public should be sacrificing to participate in this economic recovery?

Obama's response meandered all over the page. Truly, as I read his non answer to the question, I heard the principal from Billy Madison in my head:

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Americans are sacrificing daily. People are losing jobs and watching their savings evaporate. We are seeing the greatest power grab in the history of America by a President and political party that do not believe in liberty. We watch in horror as they are sacrificing the wealth of future generations on bailouts and social experiments.

Where are the "tough budgetary decisions" that Obama talks about when his is the largest budget EVER? What are the benefits of "investments" in health care, energy and education when government has proven they can do NONE of these things any better than the private sector, and certainly not any cheaper.

Obama claims that he will "invest in those things that will allow the American people's capacity for ingenuity and innovation, their ability to take risks but make sure that those risks are grounded in good products and good services that they believe they can market to the rest of the country -- that those models of economic growth are what we're promoting. And that's what I think our budget does."

But raising taxes discourages risk and punishes those that will, or could be, innovators. The true inventors and risk takers do not need government handouts to be successful. They need government, yes, that means you Mr. President, out of their pockets and out of their freakin' way!

So I humbly ask this question. At what point does government sacrifice? When will we see Congress cut their staff or lower their pay and benefits? When will we see the White House cut staff or reduce budgets or eliminate wasteful programs? When will we see worthless Federal bureaucracies like education shut down and that money be turned over to the children in the form of vouchers so they can get out of failing government-run indoctrination centers?

Mr President, when will government have to sacrifice something, anything? Because all I see is a bloated, pathetic government that never stops growing and continually makes life more miserable for everyone. Is that hope? Is that change?

I'll Call Him Hank...

I have a friend I will call Hank. Hank is one of my best customers. He has bought from me on numerous occasions and referred business to me as well. He stops by sometimes just to chat when we both have free time. Today, was such a day.

Hank is in his early 60s. And on this visit we were discussing current events and politics. In the middle of our discussion he mentioned something that shocked me.

"I have been trying for over 20 years to become a US Citizen," he said with tears in his eyes.

Now honestly, I did not even know he was not a citizen. He is a citizen of a major European nation, lived in the Middle East and later in Mexico. He has been in this country over 20 years as a legal resident. He has raised three children, started businesses, paid his bills and never once been in trouble with the law. In fact, he is the type of immigrant that you want as a citizen.

He has hired lawyers and fought the battle, but each time some government bureaucrat loses the paperwork or comes up with some other delay. Its enough to make most people cry.

This is a man that truly loves this country. The freedoms and opportunity are what led him to leave behind family and make his way to America - legally I might add once again.

The next time you hear some activist in Washington demand amnesty for ILLEGAL aliens, remember Hank and people like him. These people deserve to be Americans and have more than earned that right. If a good man like Hank has to wait 20 years, someone here illegally needs to wait at least 50 years IMHO.

If You Take The King's Coin...

Remember the saying: "If you take the king's coin, you must do the king's bidding." Consider those words as I examine the whole AIG debacle.

The manufactured brouhaha over bonuses paid to AIG executives has become surreal. First, let me provide some background on the story. Chris Dodd, ranking banking member in the Senate and Senator Obama received the greatest amount of campaign dollars from AIG at over $100,000 each during this last election cycle. Will all the Dhimmirats that accepted massive AIG campaign donations return them? I doubt it.

Flash forward, the government decides to provide bailout funds for AIG whose failure would be "catastrophic." Dodd at the request of Obama includes language allowing AIG to pay bonuses even after receiving TARP funds from the government. Now everyone is feigning ignorance and anger over bonuses that were legally promised to employees! Dodd even had the gall at first to claim that he did not know who added the language. Obama pleaded ignorance even though he signed the damn bill! Who really is in charge here!

Maybe these executives earned these bonuses? Why is the government getting involved and telling business what they can or cannot pay their employees? That is a very dangerous precedent.

In the latest hypocrisy, the House is voting on taxing the bonuses at 90%! Good time Charlie Rangel, a tax cheat himself and ranking Dhimmirat House banking committee member, had these words of wisdom:

"We figured that the local and state governments would take care of the other 10 percent."

Excuse me? Our government is now in the business of punitive, after the fact taxation?

I truly wish we had not spent one penny of taxpayer money on failing companies. That is NOT the role of government. But now that we have, it is not the government's role to micromanage business. But that is their goal. They lure you into believing they have your best interests in mind, but instead they want to destroy private industry and control every aspect of your life. If they can retroactively tax someone at 90%, what is to stop them from doing that to you and me.

Please take this to heart. In 2010 and 2012, cast your vote for Conservatives who believe in limited government and freedom. Our country deserves better than these clowns destroying this great nation. For

A Rant So Good I had To Post It Here...

I am not an ivy-league educated know-it-all, but I have been in the business world for over 20 years. I may not be an expert in economics, but I have lived history, which is a pretty good road map to the future. I've never seen government spending spur any real economic growth. Tax cuts have always produced economic activity under JFK, Reagan, Bush and just about everywhere its been tried.

You only have to look at what Japan did in the 90s to see that spending money THAT YOU DON'T HAVE on infrastructure does not spur REAL economic activity.

And quite frankly, where is the moral outrage that government is taking money from YOU and giving it to someone else? This is exactly what our founding fathers warned us about. When you allow voters to vote themselves money from the treasury, the country is doomed. Atlas hasn't just shrugged, he's saying screw it, I'm out of here. By the end of Obama's play time in Washington, there will not be any "rich folks" left to tax!

I may be "sophomoric" in my understanding, but I see Democrats, and some Republicans, taking OUR money, that they have yet to confiscate BTW, to give to failing companies, pet projects/causes and to bail out mortgages that were only made under government threats to those that had no business getting them in the first place. And you want me to embrace this!

Again I ask the question. In tough economic times, I have to cut back and spend wisely. When has government ever reigned in THEIR spending?

You have Democrats actively and openly discussing nationalizing banks, carbon taxes and taking over health care. Are we living in Venezuela now? My gosh take off those liberal rose-colored glasses and look at what is happening in Washington today and over the last 100 years of Democrat control. You are seeing the systematic destruction of the US from within before your very eyes. Kruschev would be so proud. Cloward-Piven is working like a charm.

I wonder what is being taught in universities these days when people are defending these types of activities in Washington. But then again, I drank the Kool Aid a few years before I started using my brain.

Maybe when that first Obama tax increase hits your wallet you might change your mind. What's that you say, you don't earn over $250,000 a year? Well guess what, even if you don't make that much your employer, grocer, florist, power company, service station owner, doctor, lawyer all do and they will pass that baby right along to you. You can bet that even if you currently don't pay a dime in taxes, your dollar will not buy as much.

Democrats have been screwing with banking since GSEs were created in 1916. Every banking "crisis" we have had has been very much related to excessive government meddling and "regulating." Do you trust a bunch of ivy-league educated braniacs who have never run a business to understand banking? I sure don't. These guys have never run a business much less a bank.

The nearest Barney Frank has been to meeting a payroll is the male prostitution ring that was run from his apartment. The only experience Christopher Dodd has with banking is getting sweetheart deals from Countrywide and massive campaign donations from Fannie Mae.

Obama was a community organizer and part-time professor before his 150 days as a Senator, Hillary an attorney and First Lady. Half the cabinet and many key lawmakers writing tax code can't even pay their own freakin' taxes. You expect free market solutions from this bunch?

I'm not angry, I'm passionate. I love this country too much to see it destroyed by a bunch of folks unfit for even the most menial tasks at the local fast food establishment of choice.

But I guess if I were more "sophisticated" I would understand the complexities and nuances of economic policy...

The Nail In The Coffin?

Dr. Will Happer is a Professor of Physics at Princeton University. On February 25th he testified before the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Among his comments:

Sometimes the obsession for control of the climate got a bit out of hand, as in the Aztec state, where the local scientific/religious establishment of the year 1500 had long since announced that the debate was over and that at least 20,000 human sacrifices a year were needed to keep the sun moving, the rain falling, and to stop climate change.

Sounds like Al Gore must have some Aztec blood in him with his desire to bleed humanity of all their wealth in a futile effort to change the climate.

Al Gore likes to display graphs of temperature and CO2 concentrations over the past million years or so, showing that when CO2 rises, the temperature also rises. Doesn’t this prove that the temperature is driven by CO2? Absolutely not! If you look carefully at these records, you find that first the temperature goes up, and then the CO2 concentration of the atmosphere goes up. There is a delay between a temperature increase and a CO2 increase of about 800 years.

The emphasis is mine. This point needs to be mentioned often because it is so vitally important to understanding the role of CO2 in the atmosphere.

CO2 is not a pollutant and it is not a poison and we should not corrupt the English language by depriving "pollutant" and "poison" of their original meaning. Our exhaled breath contains about 4% CO2. That is 40,000 parts per million, or about 100 times the current atmospheric concentration. CO2 is absolutely essential for life on earth.

Exactly when did CO2 get such a bad rap anyway?

Many of you may know that in 2007 a British Court ruled that if Al Gore’s book, "An Inconvenient Truth," was used in public schools, the children had to be told of eleven particularly troubling inaccuracies. You can easily find a list of the inaccuracies on the internet, but I will mention one. The court ruled that it was not possible to attribute hurricane Katrina to CO2. Indeed, had we taken a few of the many billions of dollars we have been spending on climate change research and propaganda and fixed the dykes and pumps around the New Orleans, most of the damage from Hurricane Katrina could have been avoided.

The emphasis is added by me. This is at the heart of the "global warming" hysteria. We are spending billions trying to solve a mythical problem that we can do nothing about. That money would be much better served back in the hands of consumers, investors and businesses to stimulate the economy.

Plants, and our own primate ancestors evolved when the levels of atmospheric CO2 were about 1000 ppm, a level that we will probably not reach by burning fossil fuels, and far above our current level of about 380 ppm.

Dr. Happer goes on to discuss how much better crops fare with higher levels of C02. It is fascinating testimony that will get little play in the mainstream press.

More and more brave scientists are stepping forward and speaking out against this nonsense. In fact, over 30,000 American scientists (including over 9,000 Ph.Ds) have signed a petition that states in part:

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the forseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of earth.

President Obama and the liberals in Congress are already salivating over the opportunity to spend billions stolen from citizens in the form of carbon taxes. They also continue to spend billions trying to prove this global warming nonsense when the evidence is overwhelmingly against them and more keeps coming.

Here is a fantastic article from Human Events that details the corruption of some NASA scientists in their support of global warming and the false claim that certain individuals were "muzzled" by the Bush administration. Its worth a quick read.

By now it should be obvious to even the casual observer what this whole global warming scare is all about - more government control and higher taxes. No rational individual after reviewing all the dissenting evidence would try to destroy our economy based on this hoax.

Where Is Our Daniel?

Do you remember the story of Daniel from the Bible? He was a man that served at the highest levels in both the Babylonian and Medo-Persian empires. Everything he did honored God and he was blessed with wisdom far beyond his peers. He served multiple kings and each time received honor and was elevated above the other advisors.

This of course led to jealousy among the other princes who schemed to have Daniel removed. They knew Daniel was obedient to all the laws of the land and acted in perfect honesty in everything he did. If they were going to accuse him of something, it would have to be based on his religious practices.

The princes tricked the new king, Darius, into passing a law that forbid anyone from praying to anyone except Darius. Appealing to the vanity of Darius, the law was passed and promised a swift execution in the lions' den for anyone who disobeyed the new law.

Daniel knew the law, but more importantly, he knew HIS God. He opened the windows and prayed loudly, praising God as always. The princes saw this and ran to Darius with their evidence and accusations.

Immediately, Darius knew he had goofed and sought a way to overturn the silly law. The Blessing of God was on his empire BECAUSE of Daniel. There was nothing in Daniel's behavior or actions that deserved death. But the law had to be carried out.

Daniel obeyed all the laws, but he also obeyed a higher law. He would face the punishment because he was certain that the God he loved and served would act on his behalf. Based on the story, I believe Daniel's faith moved Darius because he made a very profound confession as Daniel was placed in the lions' den:

"May the God who you continually serve rescue you!"

Darius fasted all night and ran to the tomb the next morning to confirm that Daniel did worship the one true God. Of course you probably know the rest of the story. Daniel was alive and was pulled from the den. His accusers were then thrown to the lions who devoured them before they hit the ground.

When I think about this story I wonder where are our Daniels? Certainly there were men of great faith among our Founding Fathers. The evidence for this is all around us. But there seems to be a major lack of Godly wisdom and integrity in Washington these days. Its time we get more people filled with God's wisdom working in government.

Please join me in thanking God for changing Washington and putting his people in place. By faith, we remove the mountain of corruption and replace it with people of integrity who are filled with the wisdom of God! Amen!
