2024 Election - Reflections On The Recent National Erection

What a hoot! This has been the most entertaining election in years. I voted early at a community center near where I live. Outside, several preteen boys gathered to chitchat - I assumed their parents were voting. They kept calling it an "erection" instead of an election. I quietly chuckled to myself, as I did the same thing as a dumb kid because bathroom humor is about as edgy as one can get at that age.

I climbed into my SUV and thought about the term erection. You know, its actually somewhat accurate. An erection happens when one is excited, eagerly looking forward to rewarding stimulation. Upon completion, at least one partner is quite satisfied - sometimes both. Kind of like elections. There is great excitement as the election date approaches. Candidates and their surrogates will say almost anything to get folks excited, hoping they will show up and vote. And when the election is complete, one side is elated, and the other is dissatisfied, maybe even angry. 

Let's examine this election, and the behavior both before and after the ballots were counted. First, just a comment on how ridiculous it is that a state like Texas, with multiple major metro areas, and some 30 million residents, can complete their counting and determine a winner within an hour or two of polls closing. Yet "swing" states, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will drag it out into the wee hours. Its during these "midnight" hours when there are often shenanigans, as fewer folks are there to monitor the actions. Apparently this year, the RNC was prepared.

It was much harder to "discover" missing DNC ballots this year.

If you arrived on Earth with no prior knowledge of American politics, you would have thought President Trump was the most evil man on the planet. He was called a rapist, liar, sexual predator, Hitler, Nazi, White supremacist, business failure, felon, and on and on. This same man, just a decade ago, was loved by people of all colors and classes. DNC candidates courted him continually for donations or support. He was featured in major films, mentioned in rap songs, and interviewed on the top talk shows like Oprah. As a contender for the Republican nomination, the state run media GENEROUSLY provided him $2 BILLION in free air time, and he likely benefitted from 10-12 million Democrat votes in the Republican primary! That was more than the entire Republican field, COMBINED. Why? Because Hillary Clinton, the anointed "next DNC president" thought Trump would be easy to beat. Its as simple as that. The DNC was instrumental in creating and promoting the one they now claim is Hitler reborn!

 

By All Objective Measures, Trump Was A Great President. And Should Be Even Better The 2nd Time!

Aside from the election night theatrics - delaying the calling of certain swing states for Trump, it was obvious President Trump had won in a landslide. Not quite as big of an electoral beatdown as Reagan put on Mondale, but certainly impressive enough to discourage the traditional Democrats' late night creative counting. As of this writing, Trump was up 5M votes in the popular vote. And the percentages in the red states weren't even close, averaging above 60% in most. Even in solid blue states, the gap significantly narrowed from previous elections.

Democrats traditionally have a fairly easy road to victory. Nominate a decent candidate, and they could count on winning the major states/metros on the right and left coasts, the big union states, and a majority of minorities. Not content with just winning a few national positions, the democrats wanted even more power, and to "fundamentally transform" the US into some bizarre socialist utopia. And with no fear of the Law or God, they would do ANYTHING to seize and stay in power.

And that was their downfall. Somehow Joe Biden, a man who was obviously on the mental decline, was nominated to face Trump in 2020. The strategy behind his campaign was to simply keep him hidden for all but a few events. Biden, poster child for folks who have been in DC far too long, should have NEVER had a chance against Trump. Not only did Biden win, but he overcame an insane amount of Trump votes - almost miraculously, once the traditional counting was halted. Several hours later, it was revealed that there were many thousand ballots not counted. By the next day, Trump's lead was gone, and Biden was selected as President. And folks wonder why so many question the 2020 election results.

In 2024, it was even worse. The DNC decided that Biden would not run after he was nominated. His VP, Kamala Harris, was selected to run in his place. Not a single person voted for her nomination, but hey, its the democrats - who needs laws and stuff? Her campaign amounted to telling everyone she was "raised in a middle class home." For some reason that was supposed to win the hearts and minds of Americans. By every measure - economy, illegal immigration, wars, culture, and of course corruption - the Biden administration was a complete failure. And she had to run on that record, spinning it into something good. But folks aren't stupid. They see the prices at the pump. They note that their $100 at the supermarket now only got them one bag of groceries instead of two. And they heard the complaints of their children. White children being told they were racists - when most had no clue what that word even meant! Tampon dispensers in the bathrooms of young boys - as if they need something else to play with during bathroom breaks. Young girls contending with fully developed boys competing against them, and then ogling them in the locker room.

And what was the DNC response to this Sodom-like list of policies? Trump is Hitler. A vote for Trump is a vote for fascism. People who support President Trump are garbage, deplorables, stupid, uneducated etc. Pretty convincing arguments. Its especially interesting to note the policies and goals of the left - government control of education, health care, limiting free speech and repealing the 2nd Amendment, are socialist and fascist positions. The NAZIs were National Socialists, therefore closely aligned ideologically with the modern left! Projection is common with the DNC, and with the help of the state run media, they can amplify their message, overpowering most anyone who disagrees with facts and proof.

One of my favorite defenders of the DNC is religion - specifically, people who claim to be Christians and sow division and guilt on those who might consider - or be led by God, to vote for Trump. Take a look at this gem.

This gentleman claims to be a Pastor and a Chaplin in the National Guard. Although you have trouble finding the name of God or Jesus in his bio. Instead, his stated great purpose:

I went into ministry because I wanted to play a part in helping people live meaningful, fulfilling lives. I wanted to see people have every opportunity to thrive as individuals, and in their relationships, and families.

That sounds quite noble. But none of that is TRULY possible without being Born Again, making Jesus your Lord and Savior makes it possible to live the LIFE God has planned for you! 

He ran for an Indiana House Seat. Thankfully, the good folks of Indiana did not embrace his creative interpretations of Scripture, or his eagerness to enter politics.

This is not meant to pick on this one individual - as his mindset is common among many religious and nonreligious folks on the extreme left. They see NOTHING wrong with slaughtering children and selling their parts for fun and profit - even having taxpayers subsidize the entire industry doesn't faze them. Telling children that they are really a boy trapped in a girl's body, helping them to medically "transition" without parental consent seems perfectly acceptable to them as well. As does men competing against girls - check that - beating the snot out of girls in virtually every sport. But a pastor SHOULD know better than altering what God has created. That boy or girl was born for a specific purpose and time. And it was not to be a guinea pig for some crazy, irreversible medical procedures.

In my reply, I noted 1 Samuel 16:7. Let's take a look at that verse.

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 AMP

The context of this verse is that God sent Samuel to the house of Jessie to anoint one of his boys to be king in place of Saul. Samuel was quite impressed with the oldest - who seemed to look like a king. That is when God spoke the above to Samuel. God KNOWS what is in the heart of everyone. And He can even use spiritually dead folks for His purpose. David is known as the greatest king in Israel. Yet not even he was perfect. He committed adultery, and when the woman discovered she was pregnant, David had her husband murdered. And God still selected him to be king.

On THIS side of the cross, its far easier to resist the devil and sin. A Born Again Believer has the weapons and armor of God to resist all of satan's fiery darts. And a Believer can have the mind of Christ, be led by the spirit, and overcome all temptation. I can't prove what is in President Trump's heart, but I see many people I respect in the faith praying for him - and he encourages their involvement in the MAGA movement. You can look at what he stands for - note the differences between his priorities and Kamala's. Believers could ask the same of the religious left - why are Christians enthusiastically embracing a woman whose character, words, actions, and lifestyle stand in such stark contrast to the values of the scriptures they claim to believe. 

One way you know you are dealing with religious folks, or even baby Christians, is that they LOVE to focus on the sins of an individual. If they have to go back 40 years, and dive to the bottom of the ocean to discover them, they will. God forgets the sins He HAS forgiven. That doesn't make them perfect, but perfect in the eyes of God. Jesus paid the price for ALL to be spiritually reborn. What Trump "might" have done 40 years ago is meaningless. And besides, you cannot convince me that if a woman was sexually assaulted by DONALD TRUMP decades ago, she would have shared it far and wide - possibly treated it as a trophy or monetized the experience in some way. And they would certainly remember the details, maybe even saved evidence from the event. They certainly would not claim rape is sexy.

This little gem has been circulating social media leading up to the election. Its purpose is to shame Christians who might consider supporting President Trump. Once again, the left completely misses the mark.

The Bible says a whole lot of things. Some that are good, some that are helpful and a handful of verses that stand far above everything else. The above is what you get if you just scan a concordance and find verses ever so slightly that support your view of what Christianity means. The number one priority is to be Born Again, believe and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and be ONE WITH CHRIST. That SAVING FAITH changes everything about the Believer, and its the ONLY THING that impresses God. There is only ONE LAW - the Law of Love. It basically states that you treat others as you would want to be treated. And as you mature in God, treat/see folks as God sees them. That is it. The Bible provides examples of people - many who failed, and one who was completely perfect. They are to help us understand how to live as Children of God in a fallen world.

With that in mind, let's examine the son's question, as it is meant to humiliate Christian Trump supporters. Should we "help the poor?" What does that mean? Does that mean paying higher taxes so government can hand out ever increasing largesse? Have you noticed that in the last 60 years America has distributed more than $25 TRILLION through 100 different programs in 14 different agencies. And that's just DC. The states have their own programs. There are more poor folks than ever, because handouts rarely work. They break up families, are a disincentive to work, and often lead to depression and sometimes crime. Never finance poverty - you just get more of it.

A better solution is a vibrant and growing economy that creates jobs and opportunities that make it far more desirable to work than be idle. And on a personal basis, Believers give as instructed by God. But we NEVER become the source for any individual. Get them connected to God so they can know HIM as their source in their life. Then, there is NO LIMIT to what they can accomplish. Government helps you survive in the ghetto. Yet God sets you on high!

What about the foreigner? Doesn't Trump and the MAGA movement hate foreigners? That is what the media and the left would have you believe. The US admits anywhere between 1 & 3 MILLION LEGAL IMMIGRANTS per year. They are rarely a problem as long as they follow the law. The extreme left has kept the Southern Border open, allowing (often encouraging) thousands of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS flooding into the country daily. They come from every nation on the planet, are often single, military aged males, and their motives may not always be pure. Within their ranks come gangsters, terrorists, prisoners from other countries, human traffickers, and potentially harmful diseases. By sneaking into the country many die from the journey, are raped, or otherwise abused by the folks who profit from these actions.

The Federal government, rather than stop the invasion, would rather hide these individuals in big cities, place them in nice hotels and give them handouts to survive in their new country. What about American citizens - vets and families who are currently homeless? It makes absolutely no sense, unless you are counting on a whole new, future voting block to stay in power.

Folks don't realize that people are born in a particular place and time for a reason. When thousands of your healthiest, smartest, and most ambitious leave a country, the country left behind suffers tremendously. Consider what is left - the lazy, the sick, old, among other undesirable traits. The very people that are leaving are the ones that could and should make their nation better. And America should be selective. Put a premium on certain skills that are lacking in the US. And open the gates only as unemployment is at an extreme low point. US citizens should come first. If an immigrant wants to move here, do the necessary background checks to make sure they are not a threat, and would CONTRIBUTE to the country.

I love how the left continues to emphasize that Trump is a liar. I stopped watching state run media in the Clinton years because of their inability to report the truth. And its only gotten worse. If you are labeling half the country Nazis, garbage people, deplorables, uneducated, hypocrites in every segment, you might want to look in the mirror.

I am going to count his departure as a win for America, and a big loss for whatever country takes pity on him. Yet again, dozens of "celebrities" claimed they will leave the US if Trump wins. After multiple election cycles these clowns never leave. Now what do we call someone who says something that is not true? Oh yes - a LIAR.

It Can Only Get Better With President Trump

This was the first inauguration I have watched in decades. Not because of any particular animosity towards the previous Presidents. They generally met my expectations. Bush 1 was an establishment candidate who largely abandoned Reagan’s legacy. Clinton was the

womanizing sexual predator I had met in Little Rock on a college trip in 1987, with the added bonus of an extremist wife with an unrestrained lust for power. Bush 2 was a big government Republican. Obama was a red diaper baby, and a community agitator groomed from birth to “fundamentally transform” this country. 

When people gain power who do not believe in the Rule of Law, or think the Constitution is just some helpful, antiquated suggestions, you can be sure their time in office will not go well for the average American. That has been the case for the last several decades, where the only difference between the administrations was the pace that Liberty declined.

Now, there is finally some hope. America elected a Patriot. He may not be a perfect man, no politician is, but he loves the United States - that is a YUGE improvement over recent Presidents. He is not an establishment insider. His picks for his cabinet already demonstrate an understanding that Big Government and crony capitalism never works. Liberty is always the answer. The Rule of Law must apply to everyone, regardless of title, wealth, or power. NOBODY is too big to jail. Wisdom is preferred to ideological foolishness. And most importantly, Godliness exalts a nation, not division and strife.

The last 8 years demonstrates the importance of electing and appointing competent people. Community agitators, academic pinheads, and extremists, are dangerous folks, especially when they seize power. We should expect MORE from a President. But since the bar was set SO LOW by the previous administration, whatever President Trump does, or doesn’t accomplish, will likely be a YUGE upgrade. I am confident we will NEVER see anything like the following from President Trump, or his administration. That alone is worthy of celebration.

The media and historians will do their best to suggest the Obama administration was a success. It is good to remember the catastrophic failures of the last 8 years. This will make it so much easier to appreciate the stark difference between good leadership, and the alternative.

1. An American president apologizing to other countries.

2. An American president bowing before some 3rd world monarch, tin-pot dictator, or to any world leader.

3. An American president presenting incompatible DVDs to the British Prime Minister, insulting our closest international friend, and long time ally, as a formal gift, while receiving in return a near priceless pen holder crafted from the timbers of the 19th century British warship HMS Gannet (whose sister ship, HMS Resolute, provided the wood for the Oval Office's desk).

4. A Secretary of State giving a tchotchke with the word "reset" mistranslated as "overcharge" to Russia, our largest global rival.

5. An American president who publicly insults the newly elected Prime Minister of Israel, the only Democracy in the Middle East and our greatest ally in the region, by refusing a time honored custom of a personal call to congratulate him/her on their victory. It wasn't the first snub or the last. Former President Obama also used taxpayer dollars in an attempt to undermine Israeli elections.

6. A President who would select a UN Ambassador who would dare float a trial balloon that America should invade Israel because of some deluded definition of genocide.

7. An administration with available assets and many options, who would deny multiple requests for help from Americans, including the Ambassador, who were being assaulted by islamic terrorists. And then lie about it ... often.

8. An American president who is a follower, rather than a WORLD LEADER.

9. A President and an administration that continually promises Americans that they can keep their doctors, and premiums will go down, knowing that this was absolutely false in order to pass the most horrific and damaging legislation in the history of the Republic.

10. An American President who would claim climate change is the biggest threat to the security of the United States.

11. A President who would increase the debt by $9.3 Trillion in just 8 years, leaving the country with $19.9 Trillion in debt, or $166,000 per taxpayer.

12. An administration that suggests that the solution to global terrorism is more jobs for terrorists.

13. An administration that promotes a UN resolution condemning Israeli settlements in their sovereign territory, and then fails to block this travesty.

14. An administration that undermines free speech, using government agencies to attack and harass citizens who are simply exercising their right to protest and speak against tyranny.

15. An administration that hates America, and seeks to divide it by race, sex, party, sexual preference, and sows strife at every turn. President Obama was uniquely qualified to stamp out the embers of tribalism and racial discord. Had he made this a priority, even with so many other disasters and blunders under his belt, his legacy would have been secured. Instead, he set out almost immediately to create as much hostility as possible, fanning the flames of unrest at every turn. His promotion of violence led to the execution of several police officers in the name of social justice. His rhetoric caused a sharp rise in police deaths, and set back race relations by 50 years in America.

16. A President who insults millions of hardworking entrepreneurs and small business owners by saying, “You didn’t build that!”

Divisive remarks like that are based on the false premise that without government, individuals are powerless, mere children that need cradle-to-death micromanagement by bureaucrats in order to survive. No other statement more clearly reveals the difference between collectivists, and people who believe in freedom.

Government creates nothing but liabilities. True economic growth comes from individuals who are willing to invest, work hard, and see their dream come true. More often than not, its the government which is the biggest roadblock in the way of entrepreneurial success. For community agitators, social justice warriors, bureaucrats, and academic pinheads, who have never accomplished anything meaningful in their lives, this is a painful truth. Prosperity only manifests where Liberty flourishes. Big government is NOT Liberty, it is tyranny. 

 

17. An administration that specifically targets a whole industry for destruction, in one case declaring war on coal, leading to the loss of 50,000 jobs, and many bankruptcies.

18. An administration that creates an $80 Billion dollar slush fund to give taxpayer dollars to their crony capitalist friends’ pet green projects. The vast majority of these “investments” are catastrophic failures, creating even more debt for future taxpayers, and proving that community agitators and academic pinheads have no place in government.

19. An administration that declares CO2, a gas that is vital to life on this planet, is a pollutant and must be regulated.

 

20. No other remark revealed what was in Obama’s heart better than his 2008 attack on people in

small towns and the Midwest, calling them “bitter” and suggesting that “clinging to guns or religion” was somehow a bad thing. As President, his administration attacked people of faith at every turn, and constantly sought to undermine the 2nd Amendment. At the same time, his administration armed drug cartels, jihadis, and supported extremists all over the world. So apparently, it wasn’t necessarily guns or religion that were the problem. As long as murderers and terrorists were armed, that was OK. However, according to this administration, law abiding Americans must be disarmed. Christians, Yazidis, or Jews could be attacked and even killed, as long as islam was defended and promoted globally.

It is time for America to take its rightful place as LEADER of the FREE World. This cannot be done when Liberty is constantly under assault from within. America cannot lead when the chains of government bondage prevent growth, and diminish the prosperity that always comes with the Blessing of Liberty. The United States CANNOT prosper when RIGHTEOUSNESS is no longer exalted!

The Collectivists Are Revolting... But Funny

Much to the collective disappointment of the media and pundits, the election was over almost as soon as the polls closed on the East Coast. They did their best to resist calling states that were obviously Trump wins, and pulled the trigger quite quickly on any state that even appeared a Clinton possibility. It did not matter. Trump still won in decisive fashion, even if the media made sure most of America was already asleep before he got to speak to the nation.

After months of being fed rigged polls, Clinton supporters were rightly shocked. Even worse were the irrational fears brought on by the almost demonic behavior of the media and Clinton towards not only Donald Trump, but anyone who would even consider voting for him. In light of the hysteria, its best to remind everyone that Trump is where he stands today, precisely because Clinton and her allies made sure he was the GOP nominee. They gave him billions in free media, and alternated between attacks and indifference towards any primary threat. They built the monster, but could not destroy it in the end.

Now its time for the weeping and gnashing of teeth. The histrionics and toddler tantrums, a staple of American collectivism, never ceases to amuse. I especially enjoyed this meme.

Look at it in all its glory. A vote for Trump in some way is detrimental to all these folks. The creator of this meme never takes a moment to consider one very important point. Only the left divides people. They thrive on division and strife, never wanting to see people as just simply - AMERICANS.

Against All Enemies Foreign And Domestic: Let's consider one critical national issue carefully. On 9/11, did the Saudi terrorists take a roll call to make sure they were only targeting Christian white males? No. They crashed their planes killing people from every walk of life, every religion, every race, and every division the left could imagine. They weren't even targeting just Americans, as 372 foreign nationals were murdered that day, including a few Muslims.

Since the attack on September 11th, 139 Americans have been killed in 48 separate acts related to Islamic terror or Islam-related honor killing in the United States.  God only knows how many have been prevented by law enforcement, or botched by the terrorists themselves. It was just a few months ago that the son of a Hillary supporter, Omar Mateen, walked into Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, and murdered 49 people and wounded 53 others in a terrorist attack. It would seem that islamic radicals don't seem to care if you are female, black, LGBT or whatever you imagine yourself to be.

Islam is the enemy we face today both here and abroad. Islamic dominated countries routinely murder gays, infidels, their own wives and children, and even other Muslims who don't believe as they do. Do we really want to import even more of that barbarism here? If you are concerned about the supposed rape culture on campus, check out what unrestricted immigration has done for rape in Sweden and  throughout Europe.

Because I love LIBERTY, I cannot support a candidate who has taken millions of dollars from countries who support terrorism and the spread of Islam. Because I LOVE my friends, I voted for the candidate who sees the risk in importing thousands of potentially dangerous people who would rape or kill you, no matter what group you call home. Compassion for the innocent needs to be balanced by commonsense. One the first responsibilities of POTUS is to defend this nation from enemies both foreign and domestic. If the intelligence community struggles to identify home grown islamic radicals, how are they going to successfully screen thousands of potential enemy combatants posing as refugees?

According to Pew research, Muslims represent about 4 to 8 percent of the population in Western European nations. Violent agitation is a way of life in several countries as they rarely adopt the cultural norms of their new home. Instead, they demand that Sharia law, the 7th century barbarism of the Middle East, be imposed in Europe. There is also a willingness to provide support for violent jihad in their adopted home.

In a survey commissioned by Channel 4 of UK Muslims, 4% sympathize with suicide bombers or see it as a viable form of protest. That's a potential talent pool of 100,000 suicide bombers. And speaking of that LGBT friend, 52% of UK muslims surveyed want to ban homosexuality. What does ban mean? Well, in more than few islamic countries it means death.

ALL AMERICANS matter to me, and voters like me. It is for that very reason we supported the only reasonable alternative to save the Republic from this growing threat.

Regime Change

The establishment in both parties have had multiple chances to get this country headed in the right direction. Since both have proven incapable of substantive and positive change, maybe its time to try something different? If your choices continue to be either hump or death, maybe its time for regime change?

Don't consider Islam a real threat? Take any issue and let's compare the two candidates. 

Does granting citizenship and benefits to illegal aliens help any citizen? No. It means jobs are taken, wages go down, and taxes go up to pay for all the free benefits handed out to these new citizens. Plus, the added bonus of school and prison overcrowding, higher insurance premiums, more crime and on and on. How does that help your friends? Uncontrolled immigration helps nobody.

How does higher energy prices help any of these disappointed groups? Last I checked, we all endure the same misery at the pump and on our energy bills.

Raising taxes has never stimulated an economy or created jobs. With roughly half the population already idle, how does putting even more people out of work through bigger government and unrestricted immigration help anyone?

Abortion murders minorities and females at disproportionate rates. How does making it even easier to kill a child even up until birth help anyone from these groups? 

Obama and Clinton have created the refugee crisis by attacking and encouraging rebellion throughout the Middle East. In the process, they helped arm what would become ISIS. So, much of the problems facing this planet can be traced to their foreign policy blunders. And yet the left thinks she is the solution?

Maybe its time my LGBT+, Female, Black, Latino/a, Muslim friends stop with their tribal, or collectivist outlook, and start looking out for the only nation on the planet that offers them any hope of individual Liberty. Collective rights deprive the individual of their Liberty. The moment you divide the nation by color, class, religion, or sexual appetite, you have introduced division that leads to conflict - something Marxists encourage. The rights of the individual will always be trampled by the group. However, Liberty is colorblind and benefits everyone equally, especially the individual who does not fall for groupthink, collectivism, or the tribalism found in the rest of the world. In the United States, you can truly be free. Let's keep it that way.

And there was only one candidate who spoke in support of Liberty. And it sure wasn't the career politician on the ballot.

Final Thoughts

All over America, special snowflakes and social justice warriors are hurting. Classes are being cancelled, and people are gathering to discuss their feelings about this election. In fact, at the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota, Katrice Albert, the Vice President for Equity and Diversity, thought it necessary to send out a letter to comfort her little minions.

While there is no expiration date for the raw emotion many are feeling, we will continue to work diligently toward a campus climate that supports respect and inclusive excellence as we work across our differences. I say “we” because none of this work happens in isolation; it requires time and effort from all of us. As famed poet June Jordan said, “We are the ones we have been waiting for.” We can only transform and enrich our institution by learning from one another, working in partnership, and continuing to find ways to positively contribute to our campus community.

We know we live in difficult times — not just here, but across our country and world. We want the University of Minnesota to be an environment where bridges are built to respectfully connect our many communities. That begins with each of us and all of us. Please join us in this critical effort.

When I imagine hard times, I think of what my parents endured. Both were raised on farms during the depression. They got up before sunrise, milked cows, plowed the fields, walked to school, and repeated those same chores when they came home. If you did not work, you did not eat. Then both, while not any older than these distraught muffins, served their country during a World War.

My father fought his way through North Africa, up the Italian peninsula and into Southern France, and then finally into Germany. He was one of 5 boys who would serve their country from the same farm family. Add in two more uncles from my Mother's side of the family, and that made 7.

My Mother, who had attempted to start college, instead postponed those plans. She went to work at Tinker Air Force Base doing what she could for the war effort working on B-29 bombers.

Thousands of folks have done the same in times of national emergency, both before and after World War 2.

This country has been very Blessed. We have enjoyed far more peace than war, far more prosperity than poverty. And we have not seen a foreign enemy on our shores since Japan briefly occupied the Aleutians.

There is absolutely nothing about this time, this nation, or this election that constitutes "difficult times". The mollycoddling of this generation will make sure they will be absolutely unprepared when faced with actual difficult times. The very fact that there are universities out there who have Vice Presidents for Equity and Diversity babysitting children instead of preparing adults for the real world, demonstrates how far we have fallen.

President Trump is exactly what this country needs. Along with a swift kick in the butt for all these special snowflakes.

I guess there is a Pauline Fleming at every school.

America needs a little more George Patton, and far less Pauline Fleming.

 

Don't Like Trump? Blame The DNC And Their Partners In The Media

Democrats and the state run media have NO business complaining about Trump's behavior now, or in the past. Why? Because they are largely responsible for his nomination. Observe.

It has been estimated that between 10-12 million Democrats (38%) voted in the Republican primary, generally in open primaries and in the early months, when they could most influence the outcome in Trump's favor. Some were certainly voting FOR him, unwilling to support the despicable Comrade Clinton. Others had a more nefarious motive - to prevent any of the truly Conservative Republican candidates from getting the nomination. There were at least four candidates who would have presented a stark contrast, and a clear Conservative alternative, to the Alinsky-trained, anti-American Marxist in her ill-fitting Chairman Mao pantsuits.

The state run media was also complicit. As the NY Times reported in March 2016, Trump benefited from nearly $2 BILLION in free media. This was more than ALL Republican candidates combined to that point in the race, and about equal to Sanders and Clinton's combined numbers. The numbers only increased as candidates dropped out of the race, likely topping $3 Billion by the end of the GOP primary. You can attribute some of this to Trump's ability to drive the narrative. However, if the media TRULY did not want Trump as the nominee, it would not have been so OBVIOUSLY in his corner.

Consider the way Ted Cruz was treated by the media after Iowa. Cruz made the correct, and principled stand on ethanol subsidies and won big. But somehow, the media turned it into a strong showing for Marco Rubio. And then later, a victory stolen from Carson's floundering campaign, an issue Trump championed to cover his own poor showing in the state. The media continued to downplay any success that threatened their choice throughout the GOP primary. They were ALL IN for Trump. 

The Clinton campaign had assumed all along that Trump was the weakest of the bunch and encouraged their friends in the media, and their minions in the field, to help Trump secure the nomination. Once nominated, it was time to prop up their deadbeat candidate, and tear down Trump. There is some truth to the assumption of weakness. He is by no means a principled Conservative. Any reasonable Conservative candidate would make Clinton look silly on the campaign trail, especially when it came to contrasting the Conservative vision of Liberty, with the radical left's nightmare of tyranny. 

However, Trump does possess some intangibles that Conservative candidates generally do not. He has a fearlessness in the face of the state run media monopoly. The average GOP politician wilts under the pressure of lights and cameras, forgetting any sliver of Conservatism that might have at one time inspired them to run for higher office. Trump enters debates knowing that not only is he facing the dim-witted Clinton, but also hostile moderators, dirty tricks by the crew, and a left-leaning army in entertainment and social media to continue the onslaught.

The Clinton campaign had hoped to paint Conservatism as extreme, and Trump as the GOP nominee, as too dangerous for America. The reality is that most Americans are rejecting the extremism of the left, and establishment politics in general. And unfortunately for Clinton, she is the poster child for pandering establishment politicians. Her whole life has revolved around obtaining power and robbing the treasury. If she actually believed her ridiculous campaign rhetoric, she couldn't vote for herself!

It is amazing that such an utterly pathetic candidate is the very best the DNC could muster. She is SO BAD, they had to orchestrate a takeover of the GOP primary to find SOMEONE Hillary might beat. That is truly comical.

EVERYONE knows Trump is no angel. So this latest faux outrage is laughable. 

If you are upset by some salty language spoken 11 years ago, SURELY you would DEMAND that Clinton drop out of the race for enabling and covering for Bill Clinton's nearly 50 year reign of terror as a sexual predator. How many more women have to physically and emotionally suffer at the hands of these two? 

Do you REALLY want Bill prowling around the White House again as FROTUS - First Rapist of the United States? 

Do you really want a woman who was willing to intimidate and shame his victims into silence to have the power of the presidency? This same woman, in Stalin-like fashion, obtained nearly 1,000 FBI files of her political enemies and kept files of anyone she perceived to be a threat. Both the Clintons and the party have used the IRS, the media, and the courts as weapons to harass, jail, and bankrupt people who oppose them. Is that the kind of leader you desire in the White House for the next 4 years?

America can and will do much better than that.

A Modest GOP Convention Proposal

Steve Deace had great idea. Writing in Conservative Review he suggested that Donald Trump agree to unbound the delegates and let them freely decide who will be the GOP nominee. It would be the chance of a lifetime for Donald Trump to show he truly understands how to make a deal, and prove he is not just some reality TV star.

Frankly, I think its a brilliant idea. Let Donald Trump make his case as to why he is the best candidate to lead the GOP directly to the delegates chosen by the Republican rank and file. If he wins a simple majority, my support changes from ambivalent to mildly enthusiastic. Right now, I am stuck with a choice between two New York progressives with almost identical beliefs, and the one I'm supposed to support was propped up by $2 billion of fawning mainstream media support and tons of Democrat voters in select primary states who absolutely do not support a Conservative vision for America.

The total amount of free media was astounding for the reality TV star, considering his total ($2 Billion) was almost equal to the entire field of both parties ($2.2 Billion). And he doubled the total for all the GOP candidates combined. Ted Cruz was a very distant second place at $313 million. You normally do not see that level of water carrying from the mainstream media for GOP candidates. But that is just one small aspect of the Trump Putsch. Consider the tone and timing of their coverage. When Cruz "unexpectedly" won in Iowa, the story was not his brave, principled stand on Ethanol, his strong ground game, or even his big victory over Trump and the establishment, it was how well Rubio performed by landing in 3rd freakin' place! ABC news breathlessly told us about Rubio, “Rarely has a third-place finish felt so much like a victory.”

And then it became the big lie that Cruz stole the election from poor little "wash day, nothing clean" Ben Carson. The fact that Carson contributed to the continuation of that nonsense has forever tainted my opinion of the doctor. In fact, the behavior of several folks in the GOP throughout this ordeal has been quite revealing. Then came the convenient hit pieces at just the right time to check any positive Cruz momentum. It was almost as if the state-run media WANTED Trump to be the GOP nominee. How odd is that?

Then we have the primaries. Democrats have been strategically manipulating GOP primaries for years. In Texas, the GOP almost doubled the number of primary voters in 2016. In 2012, there were 9 on the ballot, but it was effectively decided Romney was the anointed one. Only 1.4 million even bothered to vote. Compare that with the 2.8 million this year. Do you really think that huge increase was all GOP voters? Maybe this year was just a wee bit different than previous years with 14 folks on the ballot, 3 serious contenders, and others with no hope simply taking votes? In 2008, with 11 on the ballot, but effectively a two person race (Huckabee and McCain), so only 1.3 million votes were cast. Sanders had no chance in Texas, so Democrat voters were free to interfere with the 2016 GOP primary. In 2008, the DNC had 2.8 million voting in the primary. This year only 1.4 voted. Did they all stay home?

And remember this, MULTIPLE media outlets breathlessly told us Cruz was in trouble, and that Trump may win in Texas. After every vote was counted, Cruz won 43.75% of the total vote, beating Trump by almost 500,000 votes - (1,239,158 to 757,489). Even with the huge influx of primary voters, Trump managed a PALTRY 27% of the vote. Setting Cruz votes aside, more votes were cast for ANYONE other than Trump - (837,154). But the net result was that Trump and the GOP dwarves kept Cruz from getting over 50% and a dominating victory. This allowed the media to spin it as a setback for Cruz, and somehow a good showing by Rubio and Trump, rather than a harbinger of how weak Trump was in solid Conservative states.

And now for the obligatory music break.

Which brings us back to the proposal. If the delegates, those REPUBLICANS selected to pick our nominee, can with a clear conscience support Trump, all opposition within the party should be silenced, and we all work together to send the spawn of satan back to Hell, Arkansas, or even better prison. Assuming Trump has all this enthusiastic support within the GOP, he should win by a landslide in Cleveland. But please, let's not allow the media and DNC shenanigans pick yet another nominee for us.

BTW - I absolutely do not think this will ever happen.
