It Can Only Get Better With President Trump

This was the first inauguration I have watched in decades. Not because of any particular animosity towards the previous Presidents. They generally met my expectations. Bush 1 was an establishment candidate who largely abandoned Reagan’s legacy. Clinton was the

womanizing sexual predator I had met in Little Rock on a college trip in 1987, with the added bonus of an extremist wife with an unrestrained lust for power. Bush 2 was a big government Republican. Obama was a red diaper baby, and a community agitator groomed from birth to “fundamentally transform” this country. 

When people gain power who do not believe in the Rule of Law, or think the Constitution is just some helpful, antiquated suggestions, you can be sure their time in office will not go well for the average American. That has been the case for the last several decades, where the only difference between the administrations was the pace that Liberty declined.

Now, there is finally some hope. America elected a Patriot. He may not be a perfect man, no politician is, but he loves the United States - that is a YUGE improvement over recent Presidents. He is not an establishment insider. His picks for his cabinet already demonstrate an understanding that Big Government and crony capitalism never works. Liberty is always the answer. The Rule of Law must apply to everyone, regardless of title, wealth, or power. NOBODY is too big to jail. Wisdom is preferred to ideological foolishness. And most importantly, Godliness exalts a nation, not division and strife.

The last 8 years demonstrates the importance of electing and appointing competent people. Community agitators, academic pinheads, and extremists, are dangerous folks, especially when they seize power. We should expect MORE from a President. But since the bar was set SO LOW by the previous administration, whatever President Trump does, or doesn’t accomplish, will likely be a YUGE upgrade. I am confident we will NEVER see anything like the following from President Trump, or his administration. That alone is worthy of celebration.

The media and historians will do their best to suggest the Obama administration was a success. It is good to remember the catastrophic failures of the last 8 years. This will make it so much easier to appreciate the stark difference between good leadership, and the alternative.

1. An American president apologizing to other countries.

2. An American president bowing before some 3rd world monarch, tin-pot dictator, or to any world leader.

3. An American president presenting incompatible DVDs to the British Prime Minister, insulting our closest international friend, and long time ally, as a formal gift, while receiving in return a near priceless pen holder crafted from the timbers of the 19th century British warship HMS Gannet (whose sister ship, HMS Resolute, provided the wood for the Oval Office's desk).

4. A Secretary of State giving a tchotchke with the word "reset" mistranslated as "overcharge" to Russia, our largest global rival.

5. An American president who publicly insults the newly elected Prime Minister of Israel, the only Democracy in the Middle East and our greatest ally in the region, by refusing a time honored custom of a personal call to congratulate him/her on their victory. It wasn't the first snub or the last. Former President Obama also used taxpayer dollars in an attempt to undermine Israeli elections.

6. A President who would select a UN Ambassador who would dare float a trial balloon that America should invade Israel because of some deluded definition of genocide.

7. An administration with available assets and many options, who would deny multiple requests for help from Americans, including the Ambassador, who were being assaulted by islamic terrorists. And then lie about it ... often.

8. An American president who is a follower, rather than a WORLD LEADER.

9. A President and an administration that continually promises Americans that they can keep their doctors, and premiums will go down, knowing that this was absolutely false in order to pass the most horrific and damaging legislation in the history of the Republic.

10. An American President who would claim climate change is the biggest threat to the security of the United States.

11. A President who would increase the debt by $9.3 Trillion in just 8 years, leaving the country with $19.9 Trillion in debt, or $166,000 per taxpayer.

12. An administration that suggests that the solution to global terrorism is more jobs for terrorists.

13. An administration that promotes a UN resolution condemning Israeli settlements in their sovereign territory, and then fails to block this travesty.

14. An administration that undermines free speech, using government agencies to attack and harass citizens who are simply exercising their right to protest and speak against tyranny.

15. An administration that hates America, and seeks to divide it by race, sex, party, sexual preference, and sows strife at every turn. President Obama was uniquely qualified to stamp out the embers of tribalism and racial discord. Had he made this a priority, even with so many other disasters and blunders under his belt, his legacy would have been secured. Instead, he set out almost immediately to create as much hostility as possible, fanning the flames of unrest at every turn. His promotion of violence led to the execution of several police officers in the name of social justice. His rhetoric caused a sharp rise in police deaths, and set back race relations by 50 years in America.

16. A President who insults millions of hardworking entrepreneurs and small business owners by saying, “You didn’t build that!”

Divisive remarks like that are based on the false premise that without government, individuals are powerless, mere children that need cradle-to-death micromanagement by bureaucrats in order to survive. No other statement more clearly reveals the difference between collectivists, and people who believe in freedom.

Government creates nothing but liabilities. True economic growth comes from individuals who are willing to invest, work hard, and see their dream come true. More often than not, its the government which is the biggest roadblock in the way of entrepreneurial success. For community agitators, social justice warriors, bureaucrats, and academic pinheads, who have never accomplished anything meaningful in their lives, this is a painful truth. Prosperity only manifests where Liberty flourishes. Big government is NOT Liberty, it is tyranny. 

 

17. An administration that specifically targets a whole industry for destruction, in one case declaring war on coal, leading to the loss of 50,000 jobs, and many bankruptcies.

18. An administration that creates an $80 Billion dollar slush fund to give taxpayer dollars to their crony capitalist friends’ pet green projects. The vast majority of these “investments” are catastrophic failures, creating even more debt for future taxpayers, and proving that community agitators and academic pinheads have no place in government.

19. An administration that declares CO2, a gas that is vital to life on this planet, is a pollutant and must be regulated.

 

20. No other remark revealed what was in Obama’s heart better than his 2008 attack on people in

small towns and the Midwest, calling them “bitter” and suggesting that “clinging to guns or religion” was somehow a bad thing. As President, his administration attacked people of faith at every turn, and constantly sought to undermine the 2nd Amendment. At the same time, his administration armed drug cartels, jihadis, and supported extremists all over the world. So apparently, it wasn’t necessarily guns or religion that were the problem. As long as murderers and terrorists were armed, that was OK. However, according to this administration, law abiding Americans must be disarmed. Christians, Yazidis, or Jews could be attacked and even killed, as long as islam was defended and promoted globally.

It is time for America to take its rightful place as LEADER of the FREE World. This cannot be done when Liberty is constantly under assault from within. America cannot lead when the chains of government bondage prevent growth, and diminish the prosperity that always comes with the Blessing of Liberty. The United States CANNOT prosper when RIGHTEOUSNESS is no longer exalted!

Obamacare - An Unconstitutional Attack On Freedom

As American Patriots wait to hear from the Supreme Court, the propaganda campaign has begun. When the SCOTUS throws out Obamacare, and rightly so, they will be attacked by the media and those on the left. They will be accused of killing children and leaving people to die in the streets. Its ironic that the party responsible for the billion dollar abortion business, and the murder of almost 55 million children to date, is now so concerned about "free" health care.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL - at variance with or not permitted by a constitution

Lost in all the left's weeping and gnashing of teeth is the realization that Obamacare is unconstitutional - it is simply against the law. But that does not matter. The left simply wants more control and more power over the population. With Obamacare firmly place, along with Roe v Wade, the left could decide whether you enter the world, and when and how you depart. Note the precedent set by many past and present socialist countries of using abortion, euthanasia, and eugenics to control population and remove undesirables. But that would never happen here, right?

It does not matter if Americans in every poll taken by legitimate polling organizations have continually come out against Obamacare. It does not matter that even with a Democrat Congress, it took legislative tricks and bribery on a massive scale to even pass this travesty - that they did not even bother to read. The left is determined to nationalize American medicine, bringing mediocre, and rationed health care to all.

Right now, even with the "evil" system currently in place, health care is available and often freely provided. The private sector already subsidizes the health care for millions (including many illegally here) who never pay. They do this because most people want the very best care, and many are willing to pay a premium for it. Once the government gets involved, it simply gives everyone substandard, and most often, rationed care. And even worse, compels people to pay into a corrupt system to support those who are often unwilling to help themselves. Do you think folks getting "free" health care will settle for the most basic care possible? Think again.

Freedom is precious. But freedom also requires responsibility. You do not steal from your fellow citizens to pay for your health care. You do not force medical professionals, who have worked hard and invested time and money on education, to provide health care below market rates. 

Imagine if star athletes, entertainers, journalists, or even, gasp, politicians were told that even after all their hard work, the maximum they would ever earn would be $25,000 a year. How many of these folks would be willing to do what it takes to be the best in their respective field? How entertaining would movies or ball games be if those professionals gave only 10% of their effort? Do you think health care professionals would be any different? Its simply human nature. If there is no reward, why work harder? 

BTW - I'm all for reducing Congressional pay to the minimum wage, although that might still be too much for a few of them. And if by some demonic trick Obamacare stays around, forcing politicians to be covered by the same substandard care the rest of us will suffer under seems appropriate.

The freedom guaranteed by the Constitution allows you to succeed, or even fail. Often through failure come the greatest life lessons, leading to tremendous victories and personal achievement through hard work. All effort should be free from the shackles of government dependence or excessive regulation. 

There are generations who have been stuck in government housing, and receive everything from food to mobile phones on the backs of taxpayers. I can't imagine anything worse to a person's self worth than to be totally dependent on anyone except God. And yet sadly, there are those on the left who may even mean well, but want to act like they are a god. They would gladly condemn millions more to the government plantation and a lifetime of dependence. Whether its ignorance, or demonic influence, it is still very wrong.

SCOTUS will slap Obamacare down, preventing the enslavement of even more folks. Maybe then, we can turn our attention to getting more people off the government plantation, and allow them to truly enjoy the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.

I Am Sarah Palin!

This is a wonderful article that hits the nail on the head in so many ways.

I am Sarah Palin

Sure they admired Palin for her positions and record. But there was also a feeling that she was a different type of politician in the sense that she appeared to be natural, not artificial or forced, an impression strengthened by the evidence gathered from the recent email frenzy which seems to suggest that what you get from Palin is exactly what it says on the tin.


Like the author suggests, I take the attacks and insults of Palin personally. I see a woman of honor and integrity in Sarah Palin. She sees the problem of dependence on overseas oil suppliers and the solution is simple - drill here, drill now! No special interests to coddle. No focus group tested slogans. It is a simple solution that most Americans would heartily agree with if given a choice. Killing our domestic energy sector, or betting taxpayer dollars on windmills and solar panels, is silly if not criminal.

When it came to Obamacare, we all knew what it was - socialized health care and a disaster in the making. For anyone who loves freedom, the mere thought of government having the power over your health is unacceptable. Few national pundits and politicians came forward fighting for our freedom. But there was Palin fighting for us, and with two simple words "death panels," nearly knocked the wind out Obama's sails. She said what many of us were thinking and with a voice that shook the halls of Congress. The problems we have with health care are directly related to government involvement. If you are trying to reduce costs and provide more access to quality health care, the solution is definitely NOT more government.

I could go on. There are so many problems we face as a nation and most are directly related to a government that is out of control and fighting against the will of the people and our liberty. The solutions are actually quite simple. Shrink government, reduce regulation and taxes and watch the economy grow. All we need is freedom to restore the greatness of our nation. All we need is a LEADER that is not owned by the establishment or special interests. All we need is Sarah Palin.

Nuts!

This day in history - After being surrounded at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge (WW2), the acting commander of the 101st Airborne, Brigadier General McAuliffe, received a written surrender request from German General Luttwitz. McAuliffe replied, “NUTS!”

For a few days, it looked like much of the gains after the Normandy invasion might be lost during a German counterattack into Belgium. After initial success, the Allied forces rallied and sent reinforcements to Bastogne, a key city that controlled several major roads in the area. The reinforcements included the 101st Airborne and elements of the 10th Armored Division and the 705th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Facing them were 4 German divisions including two armored divisions that surrounded the city.

The Allied forces held out for 7 days until clear weather allowed for supplies to be dropped and the arrival of reinforcements ended the siege.

For a week in December of 1944 things looked bleak. But it was the moxie of American leaders and fighting men that snatched victory from defeat.

Its that same attitude Americans need right now. We have seen the incredible assaults on freedom and the destruction of jobs during the last two years - Obamacare, Cap and Tax, Net Neutrality, Union Expansion (Card Check), as well as Drilling Moratoriums.

We have watched our money, that we don't even have, wasted on bailouts, turtle trails, reparations to black farmers who never set foot on a farm and every other idiotic liberal wet dream and wealth transfer imaginable.

Time after time we have seen tax cheats and ethically tainted Democrats retain their positions or even get promoted and never pay the penalty for breaking the law.

Its time for real Americans to say, "NUTS!"

The real change starts right now with a new Congress.

We will fight to turn the tide of socialism and reign in a government completely out of control.

We will rid the Republican Party of DIABLOs (Democrats in all but label only) - If you are going to support socialist causes by voting with Democrats, why soil the GOP label?

We will elect leaders in 2012 that believe in America, believe in freedom and will defend the Constitution.

And to those hellbent on destroying this country and turning it into some glorified 3rd world hellhole, we say, "NUTS!"

Too Many Morlocks, Too Few Eloi...

At times, we need a reality check.

People we have over 64 million people completely dependent on some form of government handout. That number will surely expand as 77 million baby boomers retire. And it will grow even more if we suddenly grant citizenship and freebies to millions of illegal aliens. Let's not forget the millions and growing civilian employees who receive a paycheck from the Federal government, which is another liability taxpayers have to cover. Add to that the billions we will spend for the bureaucracy and health care costs under Obamacare - see Medicare and Medicaid for a preview. 60% of the budget is already entitlements (Social Security, Medicaid etc) and interest on the debt and that is BEFORE Obamacare!

Its simple math. Half the population and growing pays virtually no Federal taxes (less than 3% of the entire tax burden), but continually wants more freebies and handouts. Regulations, lawsuits, high taxes and unions keep driving businesses to other countries reducing our tax base and putting more people in the unemployed or underemployed category. The ultra rich, like many Democrats and their supporters, can leave the country or hide their money - see Soros, Rangel, John Kerry etc. There is simply not enough of us ordinary "rich" folks to create or maintain the socialist utopia where everyone has free health care, never works and has a pony in their backyard.

Or put another way, the Morlocks will soon outnumber the Eloi. After they consume all the Eloi, will the Morlocks turn on each other?

The Buck Stops Here?

Not too long ago, President Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that read "the buck stops here." It was meant to make sure people understood that he was a man of action and was not going to blame others for his mistakes. As a leader of the free world, you lead, not make excuses.

Most of the inhabitants of the White House since that time and to varying degrees, adopted the same mindset. They took credit for their success and responsibility for their mistakes. That is what good leaders do.

It has been three years since the Democrats took over Congress with Obama as a Senator, when he wasn't off campaigning. And almost 2 years since he was elected POTUS. And yet once again he was in Texas and Georgia blaming the Bush administration for the current economic mess.

When your administration has literally destroyed jobs - car dealerships in the automotive takeover and oil field workers with the drilling moratorium, and stifled all job growth through new taxes and the threat of even more with Obamacare, its time to start taking some responsibility for 10% unemployment and a shrinking private sector. And you need to take responsibility for the housing/financial meltdown that had many Democrat fingerprints all over it.

An honorable leader would not be acting like a child blaming someone else. But I will save that for another blog.

If It Walks Like a Duck and Swims Like a Duck...

Socialism - various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

Obama and his minions have been doing their best to paint TEA Party protesters as racists or violent extremists - calling their ideas "dangerous." As if defending the Constitution and personal freedom is somehow a bad thing.

This morning in an interview with Matt Lauer, Obama continued this refrain with this little gem:

“There's a part of the Tea Party that actually did exist before I was elected … where there’s some folks who just weren’t sure whether I was born in the United States, whether I was a socialist."

Seeing how he has spent millions preventing one shred of evidence from being released to end the speculation on his natural born status (a Constitutional requirement for POTUS BTW), the questions do have merit. But I will leave that for another blog. The real issue is his political beliefs. Is he in fact a Socialist? And that is clearly the case.

Since he started his reign, we now have government ownership of auto manufacturers, student loans and now health care. Obama's administration has attempted to control payroll decisions of private financial companies and grown government at a pace heretofore never seen in this country. Of course he is a socialist.

He was the one that campaigned on a platform to "radically transform the country." We certainly aren't seeing the expansion of personal freedom during his time in office.

The reason the TEA party movement keeps growing is a reaction to the things he is doing. We do not want to see our country "radically transformed." We have the best health care system in the world and cherish our freedom. We believe the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and really don't like seeing that precious document treated like it is toilet paper by the left. If I wanted to live in Cuba, Venezuela or some other 3rd world nation run by a tyrannical despot, I would freakin' move there!

President Obama, you are a socialist. Stop the crying, and blaming George Bush for your failures. Be a man and admit that you truly believe government should run everything. It would be much easier to respect someone who stands up for something, instead of continually lying about their core beliefs.

Life After Utopia...

Well, that sucks. A secret vote on the weekend, a stroke of a pen, and freedom takes a kick to the groin. As true patriots scramble to find a way to correct this travesty, I thought a better approach would be to examine what life might be like if we applied progressive logic to all of society's ills. If the goal is "social justice" what about all these inequalities?

Thousands of pets die needlessly every day without pet insurance or guaranteed free access to a veterinarian. This is unacceptable in America. We need government-run pet care. We'll put a tax on pet food and supplies to pay for it. Yea, that's the ticket.

I once had to stay in a Red Roof Inn. In a country like America, how can anyone be forced to stay in anything less than a 3-star hotel? We need guaranteed free access to 3-star hotels for all and a hotel surtax for any 4-star or greater property to pay for it. Nobody deserves a bad night at a cheap hotel.

Airlines, where do I start? If I want to travel to a Dear Leader praise rally, why should I have to pay for an airline ticket? Air travel is a right! Its in the Constitution, I swear!

Cars? Don't get me started. Its unfair that my neighbor drives a Mercedes while a putter around in my Obama-made lawnmower. I have a right to a brand new car every year and nobody should have a newer or better model/make than me. Are you going to restrict my ability to travel? Oh, by the way, I'm not paying for it, or for any maintenance or repairs. That's the government's job. Obama even promised to put gas in my tank!

When I die, don't even think about charging me or my family for a funeral. I have a right to a decent casket, funeral service and honor guard. After a lifetime of leaching off the few remaining American taxpayers and not contributing one single penny to the economy, a 21-gun salute to honor my departure seems appropriate.

NO JUSTICE NO PEACE!!

Only A Handful of Patriots Needed...

The fate of freedom rests in the hands of less than 20 members of Congress. Will they vote for liberty or tyranny?

Never in my wildest dreams did I think freedom could be lost by a vote in Congress. How can there not be at least 218 people in the House of Representatives that will honor their oath and defend the Constitution?

This is the most important week in the future of the United States as the fate of Obamacare is debated. God help us all.

Thomas Jefferson once said:

"When the government fears the people there is liberty; when the people fear the government there is tyranny."

Unfortunately, we are falling deeper into the tyranny stage.

Damn the Constitution! Here Comes Obamacare!!

Its frightening that there are so many people in Washington willing to completely ignore the Constitution in the process of pushing this nightmare legislation. Progressives will stop at nothing, even their career in politics, to force the nationalization of the health care industry. Government has already thrown a monkey wrench in the system through Medicare and Medicaid, which causes us all to pay more for everything health related. Now they want it all. If you control the $$$ in health care, you can control every decision a citizen makes in the name of "controlling costs."

But the only way it cuts cost is by restricting access and denying care. This is about control, creating more Government/Democrat/union jobs and making more people even more dependent on government, guaranteeing Democrats power for the next several decades.

We don't have to look far to see the failure of government run systems since virtually every country suffers under some form of socialized medicine. There is a reason the well-to-do in those parts travel to the states for timely, and safe surgeries. But we don't even have to go that far for evidence, we can simply look at Massachusetts for a preview of what is to come. They passed the affectionately called Romneycare, named after the former "Republican" governor Mitt Romney.
They had hoped to lower costs, insure everyone, while maintaining high standards of care. The results as found in the Wall Street Journal:

- 140,000 remained uninsured in 2008.
- A family of 4 spends on average more than $13,000 in insurance premiums, 27% higher than the national average.
- Insurance companies are required to sell "just-in-time" policies, meaning you can wait until you need surgery and buy a policy. Needless to say, many people are taking advantage of the system and driving up premiums in the process.
- As one would expect in a socialized system, physicians are quitting the business, moving or restricting access. 56% of internal medicine doctors are not taking new patients. 44 days is the average wait for an appointment.
- Emergency room visits have jumped by 7%. If you can't see a doctor, where do you go? You guessed it, the emergency room, and this only increases the cost for everyone else.


Obamacare proponents claim that it will only increase the deficit by $900 Billion over 10 years. I call shenanigans. First off, whatever program comes out of Washington, multiply it by a factor of at least 10 and you might be close. This will be a budget buster of epic proportions. Taxes start immediately, while benefits don't kick in until 2014. But I thought Obama claimed that thousands were dying every day because of lack of health insurance? Why wait for 4 years to implement? What part does election year politics play in delaying Obamacare implementation until after Obama's run in 2012? Inquiring minds want to know.

And in the irony of ironies, it will still leave several million uninsured. Wasn't that the reason for the stampede to nationalization in the first place!? You could take a fraction of the above amount and buy private health insurance for all the so-called uninsured in America. Why was that not even considered?

What are the alternatives? I'm glad you asked.

Indiana offers Health Savings Accounts (which would be illegal under Obamacare) to state employees. 70% Have chosen this option, bringing health related costs down by 11%. Click on the link to see what a free market solution might look like.

Tort Reform in Texas and other states reduce the use of defensive medicine, spur economic growth and reduce cost. There are no provisions in Obamacare for Tort reform.

These are just two of many proposals that should be tested in all 50 states to determine the best direction to go. Testing various proposals in 50 states seems far more sensible than a government takeover of the best health care system in the world.

What Health Care Crisis?

Senator Harry Reid (Demonrat -Nevada) is cramming through Obamacare in time for Christmas! Secret backroom deals, midnight votes, millions in taxpayer funds to buy votes from Senators in Louisiana and Nebraska will be the legacy of this nightmare. But yet it still does not solve the supposed purpose of reform - insuring the uninsured.

Instead it destroys the doctor/patient relationship by inserting an unnecessary government bureaucracy. It mandates that people buy insurance or go to jail. And within a few years, it will run private insurers out of business, while not addressing the serious issue of tort reform. How in the heck does this make health care better?

I rarely get sick. But last week I woke up wheezing and gasping for air. What I thought might have been a simple sinus infection was a case of pneumonia. I know that because the morning it hit the hardest, I called my doctor. By 10am, I was at his office. By 11am, I had all my vitals tested, chest x-rays, blood test, a nebulizer treatment along with a shot of antibiotics and steroids. I carry insurance that I buy through work and my co-pay was $50 which I paid with my flexible spending account (FSA).

At 12, I was at the pharmacy, where I was loaded up with a grocery sack of drugs: antibiotic, decongestant/expectorant, ample supply of breathing treatments, all of which were covered by insurance to some degree with the exception of the portable nebulizer (breathing machine). The total out-of-pocket for me $160, which again I paid for with my FSA.

There is no other country on the planet where I could have been seen, tested, diagnosed and treated that quickly with the latest and most effective drugs available. And were it not for government involvement, threat of lawsuits and other bureaucratic challenges, the price of the service might have been far less.

Pneumonia, which can be fatal if not treated quickly, was just a few days rest for me. But for those waiting a month to see a doctor or for an x-ray in a government-run system, it could easily mean death.

Exactly where is the crisis? Why destroy the very best health care on the planet? Yes, I know the answer and so do you. This is about Democrat control of every aspect of our lives. Instead of raising everyone up and giving them the very best they can get, they want to equalize the misery.

After 16 MONTHS of debate, the Continental Congress approved the Articles of Confederation for ratification by the states. This would lay the groundwork for the Constitution. Among the guarantees in the Articles:

"Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation expressly delegated."

Now, think about Nancy Pelosi and this present Congress ramming through 2,000 pages of jibberish that not one single Congress critter has read in its final form - in the middle of the night and on a weekend.

Our Founding Fathers understood that it took time and debate before decisons could be made and laws passed. They rightly feared an all-powerful centralized government and took this responsibility seriously.

We should all be aware that if/when Obamacare passes, the Federal government will have the power to regulate EVERY aspect of your life. Why? Because EVERYTHING you eat, drink, breathe and do may have an impact on your health care needs today, or tomorrow. The government will regulate your life to control and minimize how much this monstrosity will cost. Do you really want some czar or bureaucrat telling you how to live your life?

This is not poltics. It is YOUR FREEDOM that is at stake.

There is a reason I have this Thomas Jefferson quote at the top of my blog. It is still 100% true 200 years later.

"I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple. Were we directed from Washington when to sow, when to reap, we should soon want bread."

Obamacare On Life Support...

The government takeover of health care seems to keep rearing its ugly head. I thought after Sarah Palin's brilliant FaceBook message referring to the "end of life" counseling and inevitable rationing of elderly care as "death panels" was a fatal blow. But even with support all the way down to 42%, and I even think that is overstated, Democrats keep pushing this crap forward.

If you find yourself on the fence, here is one more nugget to consider. One of the big reasons Obama and his henchmen are pushing this is that they see it as a foot in the door to socialized medicine (complete government control of all health decisions and expenditures). There is ample evidence, and in their own words, affirming this truth. They will force everyone to take government insurance (think medicare or medicaid). This will eventually destroy the private insurance industry as they cannot compete against a government (taxpayer) subsidized entity. The end result is everyone will pay EVEN MORE for Obama's crappy government plan.

Why do I call it crappy? Ask a poor person, a health care provider or an elderly person and they will let you know.

Now, one of the ways Obama has sold this garbage is that it would save $$$ and stop the "profiteering" of "big insurance companies." Excuse me?

The top 10 health insurers COMBINED earned profits of just over $8 Billion. Let that number sink in for a tic.

Medicare FRAUD in the USA cost you and me $60 BILLION last year. And that's for about 45 million Medicare victims. Probably half of those $$$ went to ACORN and/or funded Obama's election, but I digress.

How in the wide, wide, world of sports will that number not increase a hundredfold when you force another 200 million people to suffer with some bureaucratic government boondoggle of an insurance plan?

This Is Insane...

Our very own Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, the one with the permanent deer in the headlights expression, unveiled (privately) the brand new health care takeover bill. Unfortunately, its not any prettier than she is.

There are at least 13 new taxes in the bill. Among the more egregious that you might consider:

Individual Mandate Surtax: If you do not have health insurance or refuse to buy health insurance, your friends in Washington will tax you 2.5% of your modified adjusted gross income!

Medicine Cabinet Tax: Would end your ability to purchase non-prescription medications with your health savings accounts (HSAs) or flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). The bill would also cap FSAs at $2500.

This would be the beginning of the end for HSAs and FSAs. These are actually the solution to affordable health care, but according to Nancy and her merry band of nitwits, they must be destroyed.

Surtax on Individuals and Small Businesses: Nancy includes a surtax of 5.4 percent on adjusted gross incomes over $500,000 ($1 million married filing jointly). If you thought the Democrat engineered banking crash was bad, wait until you see what this does to small businesses and unemployment after it gets rolling.

The "nonpartisan" CBO claims this will ONLY cost $200 BILLION more annually - we all know from previous experiences with goobermint programs you will need to multiply that number by at least 10 for a more accurate estimate.

But the irony of ironies, this will still leave an estimated 18 million people uninsured. 18 freakin' million? We're wasting $200 BILLION and still can't buy basic coverage for 18 million people!? As you see, this bill has nothing to do with making sure people are insured. Heck, give me that $200 billion and I will personally insure every uninsured citizen out there with plenty leftover to throw a mega party or two!

What makes all of this futile is that reimbursements to doctors and hospitals will be drastically reduced. Doctors will retire early, for-profit hospitals will shut their doors, and as health options decrease and begin to be rationed - as they always have in socialized countries, the cost will skyrocket. Not to mention the end of any private insurance options as the Federal government runs them out of business.

Worst Legislation EVER -- although cap and tax may still be worse.

Who Are The Real Racists?

We are told that any opposition to President Obama is racist. And anyone that opposes wasteful government spending, ACORN corruption, tax cheats writing tax laws or a government takeover of health care is a racist. If you attend a tea party protest, obviously you are a racist. If you believe true freedom exists only when you free yourself from the government plantation, well, quite naturally, you are a racist.

When liberals cannot debate the facts, they rely on personal attacks. Truth is a stranger to them. Its like light to a vampire.

The reason so many people oppose the current administration has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with their actions. Wasn't that what Martin Luther King argued quite passionately for in his speeches, that we judge a man by the quality of his character?

But that doesn't match up with the left's template. "Conservatives want to starve children. They want to force the elderly to eat dog food. They hate minorities!"

When in reality, its the liberal policies that are currently being pushed that are much more likely to cause the early demise of grandma. Or in the case of auto dealers or insurance salesmen, put you out of business. Or keep you stuck on the government plantation living in government housing and trying to live off of government handouts taken from fellow citizens. Who are the real racists here? People determined to keep you living in poverty as useful idiots to the liberal cause, or those trying to free you to a better life?

Government will never make you prosperous. Only hard work, education and a God-inspired willingness to change can do that. Taking money from one group to give it to another simply equalizes the misery. You will never succeed in life by stealing from someone else, even if it is the government doing the taking!

10,000...Give Or Take A Couple Of Million...

You wouldn't know it by watching the state run media, but over a million patriots converged on Washington this weekend to protest the race to destroy our great nation. Growing out of the Tea Party tax protests, people have had enough of out of control spending, corruption, lies, government takeovers and high taxes.

At least the foreign press was paying attention.

Anna Hayes, 58, a nurse from Fairfax County, stood on the Mall in 1981 for Reagan's inauguration. "The same people were celebrating freedom," she said. "The president was fighting for the people then. I remember those years very well and fondly."

Saying she was worried about "Obamacare," Hayes explained: "This is the first rally I've been to that demonstrates against something, the first in my life. I just couldn't stay home anymore."
