When I was a wee lad, I had a football coach who said that God made it hotter in August to get the players ready for the long football season. It sort of made sense. From May to July, thunderstorms would come and go and keep the heat in check. It was just warm enough to have fun - pool, sports, and exploring. But not so hot you preferred inside activities. And then came August.
Being centrally located in the United States, the jet stream, which steers most of the major disturbances, often does some strange things in August. Chief among these is lifting up over Texas and then dropping, freezing (pardon the pun), high-pressure systems over Texas, and sometimes the entire Southwest. This leads to triple digits and brutal stretches until the jet stream repositions, or a major hurricane hits Texas, breaking up the party.
That is exactly what is happening at present. Normally, I am fending off ridiculous claims of climate change during heat waves. Yes, in Summer, it gets warmer. And in the Fall and Winter, the temperatures drop; sunrise, sunset - nothing new under the sun. But surprisingly, those people have moved on to hating Jews and starting a communist revolution in the United States.
So Texans make jokes about the heat, and endure. And if you're old enough, share your memories of the hottest Summer ever - 1980. That year we had 42 consecutive days with triple-digit heat (June 23 to August 3).
I remember it quite well. I worked at a car wash as a steamer at 15 years old. It was over 100, I was covered in heavy clothes to protect my skin from the steam wand pushing soapy water out at over 200°F. It got so hot I developed a nasty case of Prickly Heat. If you've never had it, be thankful. It's kind of a heat rash, and it is not pleasant. It was miracle I survived without having a heat stroke.
Working At The Car Wash!
We are not anywhere close to the record set in 1980, but it is toasty in Dallas. Dallas, Texas (DFW Airport) recorded its highest temperature of 2026 on Monday, August 24 - 109°F. (All that concrete and jet exhaust at the airport increases their reading compared to rural stations in the area and even historical data. One day they will adjust for that.)
It is just your typical late Summer high-pressure system that does not know its days are numbered. But yes, it is hot!
Monday, I was driving along Loop 12 in South Dallas - making my rounds. I came to the bridge over the Trinity River - just a lazy creek this time of year. I still like stealing a peek and imagining myself floating away.
Most bridges in Texas have signs warning people that: "Bridge May Freeze In Cold Weather." It's good information when it's freezing outside. When it's over 100, it just seems silly. I let myself imagine that it was freezing outside. But instead of a pleasing, very cool moment. I saw this:
Something amazing happened starting around June 21st of this year in the Northern Hemisphere. Some called it, "unexpected" while others said it was "unprecedented". What was this event? Well, in the real world, we call it Summer. And its been happening longer than man has lived on this planet.
The days get longer, temperatures rise, the oceans get warmer, and the jet stream sometimes gets wonky, leading to some odd weather in unexpected places. Having been around some time, I have watched this cycle come and go.
During the Summer of 1980, a high pressure system camped over Texas. In Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, high temperatures exceeded 100 °F (38 °C) a total of 69 times, including a record 42 consecutive days from June 23 to August 3, of which 28 days were above 105, and five days above 110. It was freakin' hot!
Why do I remember that Summer so well? I was an industrious lad growing up. I had two older sisters, and working parents of modest means. Which meant if I wanted anything, I had to work and earn money to buy it. I loaded hay on trucks, mowed lawns, did extra chores, babysat for neighbors - kids not babies, I even published my own satirical newsletter - The Daily Freak. Which at the height of its popularity, had a distribution of well over 3 - but it did have fantastic pass-along numbers.
As soon as I was old enough to work a "real" job, I jumped on it. I was 15. It was a full service car wash, and I started at the bottom - drying cars. I quickly moved up to steaming cars, which was the brief spray down to remove the tar, dirt, and oil near the wheels. This was especially difficult work in Summer. Its 100 degrees, no breeze or clouds, and the water exiting the wand is a blistering 200 degrees. Needless to say, you can't do this job in a swimsuit.
I don't know how much weight I lost that Summer, but I do remember catching something called Prickly Heat, which is similar to a heat rash. Not fun at all. They later let me move around to the vacuum station, and driving the cars - which was really cool, since I did not have a license yet!
There really has not been a Summer that compares to 1980 in my lifetime. For my parents it was the 30s (Dust Bowl 1930-36). And that's really the point. You judge weather events by your own experience. And if you are just 15, its likely a slightly warmer Summer to you is the "hottest ever" that YOU have experienced. But the Earth was here LONG before you were, and will be here LONG after you have gone.
The weather pattern was finally broken by Hurricane Allen hitting the Texas coast, bringing much needed rain, and cooler temperatures. It was the first hurricane to make landfall in Texas in 9 years.
I say all that just as a foundation for the people who think whatever happens TODAY is the worst/best/fastest/highest ever. And, what you experience locally, may be drastically different elsewhere. At a time when Texas is enduring a Summer heatwave, England may be enduring torrential rains and an "unprecedented" cool Summer. While in the Southern Hemisphere, they are dealing with a rare snowfall In Johannesburg. The Earth is huge and full of weather surprises all four seasons. Summer comes, Summer goes. There's truly nothing new under the Sun.
For those who skipped school to protest the Sun with Dr. Greta - the itinerant dropout princess, Summer is when the Earth tilts toward the Sun, either the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. This means they are receiving MORE energy from the Sun. Many assume that the Sun releases the exact amount of energy - it doesn't. This influences weather and climate on Earth. Here is a very simple video that explains this wonderful, God-Designed process, easy enough for government-school educated students.
The curvature of the Earth can also create differences depending on how far North (or South) you are. For instance in Finland, they are close to the North Pole. In Summer, they experience sunlight around the clock (18-19 hours outside of Lapland). They call it the Midnight Sun. Its cool, but will mess with your mind.
Things You Should Know By Now
1. The seasons are controlled by the movement of the Earth around the Sun. This largely determines the amount of energy that reaches the Earth. However, the Sun is not constant. The amount released varies. Even Nasa cannot deny this.
2. It gets warmer in Summer - sometimes much warmer. And cooler in the Winter.
3. The Earth is MASSIVELY large. It is 75% water - often very deep oceans. The remaining 25% includes areas that CANNOT be inhabited by man - poles, deserts, mountains, lakes, rivers, or places like the Everglades, that would have to be drastically changed to live there. The entire population of the planet COULD fit on the island of Hawai'i. But we are to believe that a few soccer moms are destroying the planet when they drive their kids to school? No! Man is rather insignificant when you consider the size of the globe, and the influence of things beyond his control, like the Sun, and the precession of the Earth.
4. Within the global warming movement, there are people who believe that CO2 is a pollutant, and needs to be regulated. They blame the oil & gas industry, the very folks that make modern civilization possible of KILLING the planet by drilling. CO2 is vital for life on this planet. All plant life, including that which lives in the ocean, DEPEND on plenty of CO2 to survive. Its most peculiar that the same people demanding a "plant-based" diet, are attempting to deprive plants of what is necessary for them to thrive. Since many in government schools may not know this, here is a short explanation of photosynthesis. If you continually skipped school to protest the Sun or something, you may have missed this truth.
5. Our benevolent green overlords would have us believe that the Greenhouse Effect, the process whereby the atmosphere maintains a livable temperature on Earth, even when the planet is facing away from the Sun's energy, is being overwhelmed by CO2 produced by modern civilization. No doubt we are producing more CO2 than say 200 years ago. But natural sources dwarf mankind's output. Volcanoes, oceans, animals, decaying matter, and on and on are constantly producing CO2. So how much is needed before everything goes catawampus? Its funny you asked. 95% of greenhouse gas is WATER VAPOR. Yep, you heard it right - H20 in vapor form. What about the remaining 5%? CO2 and other gases. You will often see pie charts that even neglect showing water vapor, to amplify the hysteria surrounding CO2.
11 Then God said, “Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. When you KNOW the Lord, you remain at peace. Knowing that He designed the planet, anticipating everything we could possibly do to it. When someone prophesies disaster, you can have a laugh and be at peace, knowing God has you covered.
But the left thrives on chaos. In fact, they cannot get legislation approved through traditional ways. Instead, they rely on courts or executive orders to push their agenda forward. They especially LOVE CRISES. Whether real or imagined - often the latter. They dispatch agitators to advance their agenda, often ignoring the will of the people. That is exactly what the climate change (née global warming) agenda is all about. It started way back in the 70s. Algore pushed it forward. And now they are recruiting hundreds of kids - useful idiots to drag it across the finish line.
Who Is For Polluting?
He is a good looking kid, but I hid his information because its really not about him, or what he believes. Its all about the irony of a young man, in a country blessed with an abundance of water, but yet half the country does not have running water or basic sanitation. And yet there he is on Twitter, being manipulated to protest against modern civilization. And he's standing on a DIRT ROAD!
Its likely he truly believes that climate change is about to destroy the world. That's actually quite sad, because it is a completely irrational fear, and no young person should have to deal with that. I know from experience when teachers tried to groom me with the coming ice age nonsense. Kids are easily manipulated. This young man, and his country has FAR MORE IMPORTANT things to deal with than "climate change" or any other imagined crisis. They must survive.
Solving Climate Change In Five Paragraphs Or Less
Using their very own numbers, I'm going to prove climate change is no problem at all. And I'm giving ALL THE GLORY TO GOD, because He already had it covered.
2. An average tree consumes 48 pounds of CO2 a year. There are approximately 3 trillion trees on the planet. Total CO2 consumption 144 trillion pounds consumed annually. That's just the trees.
3. Oceans, both plant and aquatic life, are absorbing CO2 at huge rates. One estimate on Kelp came to 400 billion pounds per year. Add in all the other creatures/plants great and small, and surely that number rivals the trees.
4. Even in cities, you find almost every home surrounded by grass, shrubbery, garden plants. Prairies and grasslands stretch out across whole nations. How much do they absorb? One acre will consume 3600 pounds of C02 per year. Global grassland counts are hard to find. So let me make this simple. The US has several national grasslands for a total of 3.8 million acres, Just that much is sucking in 13.8 billion pounds of C02 per year. Imagine all the grasslands in Canada, Alaska, Russia and Africa. And then add in all the yards, playgrounds, gardens around the world. That is a lot of CO2 being consumed. But I bet you never heard about that.
5. And just like that, we've already doubled, almost tripled the amount of human created CO2 with natural sources that are consuming it. Why then the panic? If scared, plant some trees or shrubs. The Earth was created to SUSTAIN life until its time is complete. Enjoy its beauty, and stop worrying about the climate!
Instead of planting trees, or adding more green space, we are building bird-murdering windmills by the hundreds. They are eyesores, not environmentally sound, and not that efficient. Same goes for solar panels - a technology I saw demonstrated at a local college in the 70s as part of a elementary school field trip. It was a neat trick back then, and it hasn't progressed very far from that. It takes up huge areas and produces a fraction of the energy as traditional sources. At best, it complements traditional energy production, and might be useful for individual use. Neither could truly be described as "green" energy.
For decades, the global warming movement has been rightly accused as being not much more than a religion for many folks. Points are rarely made unless they include an obligatory "I believe" to their claim. Hundreds of prophesied climate disasters fail to materialize - which is a sure sign of a false religion, with a lying priesthood and hypocritical layfolk.
But now, we have yet more evidence that climate change (or if you prefer - global warming - they are the same), is in fact, truly a religion. The University of Helsinki's Faculty of Theology has announced its Honorary Doctorates for 2023. Let's define some terms, just so we are all on the same page.
Theology - the study of the nature of God and religious belief.
Religion - a particular system of faith and worship (Contrast with Christianity - which is a personal relationship with a Living Lord and Savior).
Honorary Doctorate - a degree given by a college or university to someone who is not a student, but who has done something important.
Among the fine folk nominated by this presumably reputable place of higher learning, are the following, with a very brief description of their noteworthy contribution to the world.
Riho Altnurme is Professor of Church History at the University of Tartu. He is the leading expert in Estonian church history and has produced a wide range of scholarly publications on issues such as Soviet religious policy in Estonia and the history of theological education in the country. He has collaborated with Finnish church historians for over 25 years.
Annabel Brett is Professor of Political Thought and History at the University of Cambridge. Her extensive publications focus on mediaeval and early modern moral and political thought, with an emphasis on the natural law tradition, Aristotelianism and scholastic philosophy, as well as, in recent years, the history of international law. Professor Brett was a member (2008–2013) of the scientific advisory board of the Centre of Excellence in Philosophical Psychology, Morality, and Politics (PMP) funded by the Academy of Finland and headed by Simo Knuuttila.
Grace Davie is Professor Emerita at the University of Exeter. She has served as a visiting professor at, for example, the University of Helsinki’s Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies and Uppsala University. Authoring a number of works on the sociology of religion that have become classics, Davie has created new concepts in the field. In her career, she has significantly strengthened the theme of religion in the social sciences as well as the approaches of the social sciences and political studies in theological research.
Philip Esler, Professor of New Testament Studies at the University of Gloucestershire, is a pioneer in the social-scientific study of the Bible. He has opened up a number of new approaches to the study of early Jewish and Christian texts through sociological, anthropological and socio-psychological perspectives. He has also explored New Testament theology and the Bible’s relationship to visual arts. Esler has collaborated closely with scholars from the University of Helsinki in joint researcher networks and as a member of support groups for research projects.
Maria Immonen has had a long career in international aid in countries including Finland, Tanzania and Switzerland. She is currently Director of the Department for World Service at the Communion Office of the Lutheran World Federation, the first woman to hold the role. She leads the federation’s extensive humanitarian and development work, focused on the most vulnerable and on global responsibility. Immonen is an alum of the University of Helsinki Faculty of Arts.
Mia Lövheim is Professor of the Sociology of Religion at Uppsala University. She specialises in religious, media and social change, particularly from the perspective of gender and youth issues. She is a founding member of the Nordic Network on Religion, Media and Populism and the International Society for Media, Religion and Culture as well as the honorary chair of the latter. She has collaborated actively for years with University of Helsinki researchers involved in the study of religion and media and communication studies. During the 2023 autumn term, she will work at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies.
Munib Younan has for decades been the public voice of Middle Eastern and especially Palestinian Christians. In his work as President of the Lutheran World Federation, he has played a globally significant role as a Christian leader and theological policymaker. His approach emphasises the positive role of religion as a factor encouraging public engagement. Younan completed his master’s degree at the University of Helsinki and throughout his career has fostered close relationships with Finnish partners.

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish opinion-maker and activist. The School Strike for Climate she staged outside the Swedish parliament building in autumn 2018 soon expanded into the global Fridays for Future movement, in which schoolchildren urge decision-makers to take climate action based on scientific evidence. The value of her uncompromising and consistent work for the future of our planet has been recognised with several major awards and prizes. Her actions have obliged all of us with the task, as members of communities and societies, but above all as human beings, of making changes to our everyday lives.
Do you remember the Sesame Street song - One Of These Things (Is Not Like The Others)? It goes something like this - "One of these things is not like the others, One of these things doesn't belong, Can you tell which thing is not like the others, By the time I finish my song?"
Can you tell which one of the honorees just doesn't belong?
As a Christian, I have to chuckle a bit at the recipients, as I doubt many of these will ever lead someone to Christ. But at least some are nominally Christians, connected to the Lutheran denomination. So there is hope that God can use them for something. I can pray for their Salvation, so they can be placed in the Body of Christ as it pleases the Father. I keep reminding myself, this is THEOLOGY. The study OF God, not necessarily a relationship WITH Him.
Then, there is wee Greta. How vast is the difference between her academic background and life achievements, and the rest. She is a school drop out, and an itinerant agitator. Her work encourages kids to skip school and pester adults about topics that not even scientists completely understand, or can even find common ground. And have the exalted faculty at the ivy-covered walls of Helsinki U ever listened to the teen ne'er-do-well speak? This is from the transcript of her infamous UN rant, along with my comments,
"My message is that we'll be watching you."
Who is this we? Climate fanatics? Truant children? Should the world be afraid of tiny global warming fanatics coming at us because we prefer to get to places as efficiently and cheaply as possible? What is this delusion that she thinks the world cares what some brainwashed teen thinks? People wonder how the tyrants in history came to be. Look no further than this little tyrant in training, Dr. Greta.
"This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you!"
You bet its wrong. She (at this time) was 16. She SHOULD be in school - a real one that actually educates. Who is going to young people for hope? And why is she so angry? Nobody asked her to be a climate martyr. Where are her parents? Why are they allowing her delusions to fester?
"You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words. And yet I'm one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!"
Who stole her dreams? Most likely her nutty parents, and the handlers and groomers they forced on the impressionable young girl. Who is suffering and dying? Man's humanity to man is a big reason people might be dying. Certainly not climate. And its the ideology that Greta embraces, big government tyranny, and loss of individual Liberty, that has historically murdered the most people. There has been an estimated 262 million victims of democide in the last century. That by far surpasses war and ALL weather events in body count by multiple times. And yet Greta demands even bigger government, or possibly one government for all? Let the elevator reach the top floor doctor!
If you want anything done young lady, you are going to need MONEY. Even the supposed solution to this climate insanity is a major transfer of wealth from rich nations to poor. And of course higher taxes, more regulations, and less freedom for all, while our benevolent dictators fill their Swiss accounts with our wealth. Sounds downright peachy, don't you think? Its funny, for EVERY crisis, the solution is always the same.
I feel sad for the girl. Her parents royally screwed up her childhood. She truly believes she has the whole world on her shoulders. That's too much pressure for any young'un. But then again, her delusions fit perfectly with the granola crowd at the UN, which is nothing but a bunch of fruits, flakes, and nuts.
"You are failing us. But the young people are starting to understand your betrayal. The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us, I say: We will never forgive you."
"We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line. The world is waking up. And change is coming, whether you like it or not."
These are the last two paragraphs of this twaddle. Whoever penned her rant tried their best to add some scientific muscle to it, but failed. If we are all to die because of 1.5 degree Celsius increase, there is no hope for man. But anyone with a brain knows that is rubbish. The Earth has been far hotter, and far colder throughout its time. Mankind has adapted throughout history to significant changes in climate - its a historical fact, or if you are Algore - an inconvenient TRUTH.
The Medieval Warm Period (roughly 1000-1300) was a time when Europe saw higher crop yields, and Vikings settled a place called Greenland, which was much greener than it is today. And there was also a period of time called the Little Ice Age (roughly 1500-1850), when the Greenland Viking colony collapsed, glaciers spread, crops failed etc. The point being, just within recorded history there have been SIGNIFICANT climate change events that had nothing to do with the actions of men. Common sense should tell you this. But when you are an uneducated teen, pretending to be an expert in climatology, its like the ceiling - over your head.
One only has to look up in the sky and see the primary reason why this planet warms up and cools down. Its called the Sun. And unless you can create a dimmer switch for it, there is literally NOTHING you can do to influence its behavior.
In closing, look at her language - "We will never forgive you." Its not class warfare, but worse. Its dividing families, turning children against adults, kids against their very own parents. Imagine suburban parents both working 40+ hours a week to keep the lights on and food on the table. Their little Nazis come home, radicalized by protests at school, demanding that the parents do more to "save the planet!" That is not a recipe for a healthy family. Educators pulled that crap on me in the 70s, telling us that we had to flee to Mexico to avoid the coming ice age. Thank God for a Spirit-filled Mother who knew the Word. We sat down and she ended all my fears concerning the Earth. But it sure made me angry that a teacher would lie to me. Still bothers me today. Its why I get so passionate on this issue!
There's that word - change. Its every radical's favorite word. But they never answer this - change to what? Here is a paraphrase of one of my favorite Obama speeches. He loved change. Just imagine a few fainting coeds in the audience.
"I'm not talking about loose change. I'm not talking about spare change, or change from the vending machine. I'm for real change not a change of address. Feelings change, seasons change, time changes, so we must change. You change your tires, you change your brakes, you even change your socks and underwear. But that's not the change I'm talking about. Regime change, social change, changing hearts and minds. That's the change I'm talking about. Who's up for change?"
One might wonder, what does global warming agitation have to do with theology? There may be a connection, since everything about the global warming scam is predicated on believing without question what the media and scientists tell you. These same individuals are funded by folks who demand that they report the most catastrophic outcomes possible, based on unreliable models built by humans, with manipulated data. And if you dare object, question, or present alternative facts, you are immediately labeled a heretic, or the more fashionable title, climate denier, and canceled from social media, and shunned by woke folks. Sounds familiar, right?
As "theologians" you would think some of these people might know the Creator. It just might be possible that God knew precisely what man would do, and planned accordingly. He provided all the elements a modern society needs. His Earth provides energy in a plethora of plentiful ways - oil, gas, coal, water, and on and on. His creation, trees, plants, and oceans absorb CO2 and release Oxygen in its place. How cool is that? And He told the sea, “You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here” (Job 38:11 HCSB)
21 Hear now this, O foolish people without understanding or heart, who have eyes and see not, who have ears and hear not:
22 Do you not fear and reverence Me? says the Lord. Do you not tremble before Me? I placed the sand for the boundary of the sea, a perpetual barrier beyond which it cannot pass and by an everlasting ordinance beyond which it cannot go? And though the waves of the sea toss and shake themselves, yet they cannot prevail [against the feeble grains of sand which God has ordained by nature to be sufficient for His purpose]; though [the billows] roar, yet they cannot pass over that [barrier]. [Is not such a God to be reverently feared and worshiped?]

It is idolatry, to worship the Earth and ignore its Creator. And you have to be pretty darn arrogant to think that mankind, occupying less than 10% of the Earth's surface, and far less than that in any appreciable density, is somehow able to exert more power and more influence than forces like the Sun, gravity, Milankovitch cycles, magnetic field, volcanoes, oceans/currents, and on and on. If only God had provided a way to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen!
She's a regular rock star. I wonder how many of these students were either taken to the event by a teacher, or given extra credit by their school for attending. I can't imagine even Finnish children giving up their personal time to hear the crazy teen agitator from Sweden. Unless they want Fridays off to "protest" against the Sun.
At the end of the day, I suppose all we can do is pity Greta. Her parents created this monster, and now they will have to live with it. Although I suppose their income and quality of life has dramatically changed since she has taken on her climate quest.
But I imagine a simpler life for Greta. Where the family sits down for dinner, and she shares how she painted a picture at school. And then in science class, she learned all about photosynthesis - and was amazed at how wonderfully complex God made our world. After they eat, the family would gather for a fun game of King Oil. Where she would learn to enjoy the hunt for oil and big profits. What a lovely dream.
I suppose since she was awarded the Honorary Doctorate, a gift might be appropriate. It should be mandated that every climate agitator presented with an Honorary Doctorate in Theology gets their very own King Oil board game. Then, they can learn to love oil, and leave civilization to folks who actually accomplish things.
I get no pleasure in the ridicule of a child - although she is 20 now. That is why the left grooms kids to be agitators from an early age. They imagine adults will be less likely to counter the crazy claims of a child. But the stakes are too high when it comes to the global warming scam. If they succeed at claiming CO2 is poison - a gas that is essential for life on this planet, they literally can control everything anyone does on Earth. And that is the goal - absolute control. Scare enough people so they will not resist higher taxes, less freedom, and bigger government. And before long, we are just peasants to a handful of benevolent overlords. The money will flow freely into the hands of the elite, and not make one degree of difference in the global climate, or lift a single person out of poverty. Truly demonic in every way.
Useful idiots like Greta are great at spreading the message in what seems a harmless way. And once enough people stop resisting, its always the useful idiots that are quickly and quietly liquidated. Some learn from history. Others just make the same mistakes.

After about the 5th time this image appeared on my timeline, I had to comment. This is the silliest meme of January 2017, and there have been loads of baddies this month. But first, let me provide some much needed backstory. The new administration is rightly putting an end to taxpayer funded global warming propaganda. President Trump thinks neither the government, or its employees, should be lying to Americans, or presenting themselves as experts on issues that are in no way settled science.
All mentions of global warming and climate change were removed from the
White House site. Then the order went down the chain of command to all the public service minions - many of whom would likely be serving Starbucks, if government weren't so big, and very generous with taxpayer money. Since so many people have gotten insanely wealthy on this scam, and others are too far gone to embrace the truth, there are those who think they can "resist" the lawful orders of their boss, and continue agitating on company equipment and time. It started first with some Park Service twits using social media to spread global warming agitprop. This was outright insubordination. So they then decided to go rogue. Even created a group with a logo that looked a little too similar to the Park Service logo, which has since been changed. They call themselves Alt US Nat Park Service. It would be more accurate to call them Ctrl - Us, as all these global warming nut-jobs and collectivists want to do is micromanage the lives of everyone else.
So now that you know the background, its time for the ridiculous meme that got my attention.
Isn't it glorious? Those rogue Park Rangers are regular freedom fighters. I bet they can't wait to see their names engraved on Partisan Rock to immortalize their heroic stand against Liberty and Truth.
Nobody is "coming for the scientists" from this administration . With this past election, Americans said enough with the lies, the falsified data, the ignoring periods when both the temperature and CO2 concentration wildly differed from the present age. That is NOT science. It is propaganda. And taxpayers certainly don't want to pay people to lie to them.
There is a reason the globalists stopped calling it global warming - their catastrophic predictions FAILED, dramatically. Climate change is a meaningless phrase, as the climate ALWAYS changes. Long before the SUV, and long after we are gone, it will continue changing, something any scientist who is not getting paid to produce bogus results would know.
Higher CO2 levels lead to higher crop yields. Yet the global warming believers fail to share that bit of good news. CO2 is NOT a pollutant. It is vital to life on this planet. So why is the government so determined to call it a pollutant and regulate it through higher taxes? That is either diabolical, or ignorance of the HIGHEST order.

The Earth's atmosphere is 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen and 1 percent other gases, including about 0.04 percent carbon dioxide. CO2 is ONLY 0.04 of the atmosphere! Yet somehow it is so powerful, that even the slightest, and often natural increase, is suppose to catastrophically change the GLOBAL climate.
The largest producers of CO2 are all NATURAL SOURCES - and CO2 is absorbed by plants who then convert it to Oxygen - do they even teach photosynthesis in schools these days? Shouldn't somebody, like say a Park Ranger, who is tasked with protecting natural resources, understand these basic truths?
Nowhere in their mission is it indicated that they should shill for global warming, or any other collectivist fantasy. On the contrary, their job is to maintain the parks and educate the public. That's it. If they would focus on that job, they might notice that the climate has been rather stable for over two decades. If they want to play the fool on their own time and on their own computers, go for it. However, when employees represent the United States, they have a responsibility to uphold the truth, and refrain from sharing their apocalyptic fiction.
The last post I saw from the group before typing this post was a complaint that the hiring freeze was hurting their ability to do their job. Welcome to the real world, pal. Why not get off social media and work a few extra hours. That's what taxpayers have been doing nonstop for the last 8 freakin' years. The freeze was necessary because the last administration doubled the nation's debt. His job-killing regulations left nearly 95 million people out of the workforce. His attempt to seize control of health care is another fabulous disaster. So guess what, like any business that finds itself on thin ice, the government must tighten its belt. Get used to it, and be thankful taxpayers are willing to bleed a little more to have the NPS. It seems ridiculous that its even a Federal responsibility - but we'll save that for another day.
Its going to be tough in the short term. But if we stay the course, when the economy truly recovers and people are back to work in the private sector, we might be able to hire a few more needed government employees, maybe even Park Rangers.
When it comes to global warming, it amazes me that so many people are this gullible. They will believe whatever the government spoon feeds them. Its frightening that people like crazy Al Gore, the man who bought a beachfront mansion while predicting that the ocean would rise by 20 FEET, is still taken seriously. Use the brain God gave you. THINK!!! Stop relying on government bureaucrats determined to profit from your ignorance. And don't get your talking points from people hanging out with Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo all day.

DISCLAIMER - I have met many hard working Rangers at National Parks who were excellent at what they do. I have been fortunate to have visited nearly every major battlefield in the US, and been amazed by their wealth of knowledge and the passion they bring to their job. This article is not about those fine folks. This is directed towards those people who are insubordinate. And if they use their position in government to establish credibility in order to distribute propaganda, they deserve to be called out publicly.
Lifenews.com recently posted a brief article about an executive advisor to the World Evangelical Alliance who has come forward and publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton. How can anyone, especially someone who claims to be a follower of Christ, openly endorse a candidate that not only encourages infanticide, but sees absolutely nothing wrong with people of faith being forced to pay for it? And with Clinton, that is just the tip of the massive iceberg of the many, many reasons she is unfit for office. One could make a solid case that Donald Trump is not a strong candidate, as I have, but his future is still uncertain. We KNOW where Clinton stands on every issue, and where the proverbial and literal bodies are buried.
But this post is not necessarily about politics. It is about how large religious organizations go from being followers of Christ, to being perverted by the enemy. You see it in large denominations all the time, who have slowly succumbed to preaching nothing more than a social gospel. The denomination I grew up in, where my grandfather was a circuit riding preacher, is being split apart by people who want to reimagine God's Truth. How is this possible? Simple, they forget God's most basic command - Preach the Word. Without the Living Word, God's Incorruptible Seed as the foundation, everything else crumbles. It was to the religious leadership of His time that Jesus gave the strongest rebukes - This people honour me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching [as their] teachings commandments of men. (From Mark 7:6-7 Darby)
I was not familiar with the WEA, so I did some quick research. They are based in New York - a red flag, have lots of meetings, and raise cash from the religiously gullible around the world. Some of their efforts may be noteworthy - for instance stopping human trafficking. But most of their work falls in line with the global socialist agenda - redistribution of wealth, climate change, global governance. Although they carefully rename everything to fool the ignorant. The global warming nonsense becomes creation care for instance, as if God needs help in this area. It amazes me that people who claim to know God think Him incapable of anticipating anything the people HE created might do on the Earth HE spoke into existence.

These funds will help developing countries to adapt to the impact of climate change and transition to clean energy themselves.
I must have missed that verse in Scripture where Jesus commanded us to take from the rich and give to the poor. And there is certainly no verse advocating one world governance. After all, for Believers, there is only one Head of the Body, something the WEA has apparently forgotten in their zeal for good works over the Word. Believers live by sowing and reaping, not by stealing and squandering - which will always be the result of big government redistribution. Bad things happen when government, no matter what form it takes - UN, EU, US Congress, or even religion, stands between Believers and Jesus Christ.
If the Holy Spirit tells me to send money to a ministry, or give to an individual, its gone without a second thought. That is SEED SOWN, and according to God's Word, I know there will be a bountiful harvest along with the Blessing intended by God for the recipient. Money confiscated by force and laundered through government organizations is consumed by the enemy and wasted. You might as well flush it down the toilet. And it certainly doesn't do squat to change the global climate.

A Senior US State Department Official says, “the faith community has been essential in making the case that confronting climate change is our moral responsibility...".
NO. Our MORAL responsibility is to make sure people are FREE. Free to speak their mind, worship as they choose, defend their lives and property, live in the peace and prosperity promised in the Word. That is impossible when government ne'er-do-wells want to micromanage every aspect of their lives in some vain attempt to control the climate.
The world is moving away from statism and globalism, as the BREXIT vote demonstrates. Mankind OUGHT TO BE FREE, not ruled by distant unelected bureaucrats even if they claim some religious endorsement. Impoverishing people further by refusing them the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of industrialization, reliable power and transportation for instance, guarantees generational dependence. Financing poverty leads to more misery. Eradicating opportunities for economic growth means unending, hopelessness, as you are telling people they can't make it without your help, and preventing them from even trying. Its diabolical.
Why not teach people how to believe rather than beg? Why not share a vision of prosperity, rather than perpetuate the nightmare of poverty? Why not give hope, instead of just more religious despair? Why not sow the Seed that grows faith, and let the people reap a plentiful harvest, enjoying the Grace of God? Only the Word can set people free from bondage. It all starts with someone willing to proclaim the Liberty found in the Living Word.

What the WEA should be doing is teaching the Word. Demand Liberty for the people, so they can prosper and NOT be dependent on others. Introduce them to their Heavenly Father so they will be complete in Christ, and connected to an Eternal source that will NEVER fail. Let the Holy Spirit and God's Wisdom inspire and unleash the creative ability in every Believer. Instead, it seriously seems that many within these global religious organizations prefer to see people struggling, rather than overcoming and victorious as God sees them. And that is the absolute worst form of arrogance, especially from those who claim they follow Jesus.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? I want people to be successful, prosperous, free from both political AND religious bondage. I want them to enjoy ALL that God has given them. Jesus came that you may have and enjoy LIFE, and have it in abundance, to the full, till it overflows. Its satan who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10) If the WEA supports global redistribution, one world government, and keeping people hopeless and in poverty, they are bound by the philosophy and traditions of men, and have forgotten the Liberty that comes in Christ.

I took a few minutes to watch the People's Global Warming March today. Held in New York, it attracted thousands of folks who were demanding... Well, I'm not really sure what they wanted since it varied so much in the time I paid attention. Here are a few highlights.
Koch Brothers Are Evil
I would bet the majority of Americans don't know anything about the Koch brothers. They have the audacity to support organizations that have a stated goal of "advancing liberty and freedom." The Left, seeing the success the Right had at pointing out billionaire George Soros' activities, who has funded many groups that work towards undermining American freedom, decided they needed a nemesis. Since the majority of American billionaires are generally left-leaning, the Koch brothers were chosen as the face of capitalism. Now, at every event their name is cursed in speeches, and seen on nonsensical signs accusing them of all sorts of dastardly deeds. Saul Alinsky would be proud.
We Are The World
You see global warming is not just a local, regional, or even national problem. It is a global problem that requires a global solution. That is why groups from all over the world - The Philippines, South Africa, Australia, Dominican Republic all converged on New York. Presumably, they all took carbon neutral flights.
Who Needs Borders
Not sure how this helps cool the planet, but one of the many recommendations from the marchers was that we should live in a world without borders. The activists should go visit the Texas/Mexico border. Seriously, pitch a tent on either side of the Rio Grande for a few weeks and see how well it goes.
Fracking Is Evil, Solar And Wind Are Better
Besides causing thousands of bird deaths every year, being a visual blight on the landscape, and being the least efficient ways to generate electricity, the "in" crowd still pushes these ridiculous energy fantasies that only survive with massive taxpayer-funded subsidies. Where fracking is allowed, economies are growing and jobs are being created. Oil & gas are still the most efficient ways to move people and products. And don't forget, oil as a raw material is in virtually every consumer product. The activist who was pushing this was from California. Try taking a solar car from California to a global warming march in New York. You might not make it out of California.
SIGN SPOTTED: Miami Is Drowning
Evacuate South Florida! My gosh you would think if the entire city of Miami was under water that the news media would be doing 24/7 coverage of such a major disaster. Miami is only 6 feet above sea level, so even a moderate hurricane could cause flooding. That is true for most coastal cities near tropical regions. Just because major hurricanes are on an historic "pause", is no reason to ignore the potential harm a major hurricane could do in the case of a direct hit. Its a serious issue that has nothing to do with global warming. Simple fact of life, if you choose to live near the ocean in hurricane country, there is a good chance you will experience rain, winds, flooding, and possibly loss of property and life. If you want 100% protection from hurricanes, move.
The myth that melting polar ice (they are expanding not melting) raises sea level can easily be debunked at home. Get a clear glass, place ice in glass, fill with water to a measurable point, and note level. When the ice melts, note the level again. Its so easy a failed presidential candidate should be able to figure it out.
SIGN SPOTTED: Climate Change Our Greatest Threat
Tell that to the Christians and Yazidis of Northern Iraq. Or to the folks in the twin towers on 9/11, or on the ground in Benghazi. I think the folks in Ukraine and Eastern Europe might be more concerned with Russian aggression than another cool Summer. What about the folks in Africa fighting the outbreak of Ebola. Do you think they are worried about an imperceptible, and totally natural, sea level rise of a millimeter annually? And closer to home, how about coal miners who are facing loss of their jobs and financial ruin because of Washington's war on coal?
SIGN SPOTTED: Cook Organic Not The Planet
Cute rhyme, but a complete falsehood. The planet has not warmed in almost 20 years. Its inconvenient, but the truth. And there is little, if anything, that man can do to make it warmer or cooler if he tried. Cooking organic certainly wouldn't make a difference. And with the government shutting down family farms, organic co-ops, and clamping down on private gardening, it may be difficult to even find organic food.

To her credit, the activist who recommended this course of action admitted being a socialist. And even though we have oodles of evidence to the destructive nature of socialism on the human condition, there are still those that push this nonsense. One only has to look at anything the government owns or runs, to see what will happen - public housing, public transportation, public education, VA, you name it. Without incentive to prosper, nobody works hard. If we actually taught history in schools, we would not continually have to explain this to yet another generation.
Would you pay $10 for a Happy Meal? What about $15 for a sub sandwich? The idea that government can force employers to pay unreasonable wages for unskilled jobs without serious financial consequences for everyone, is a failure of our education system to teach basic economics. Sure, the young burger flipper gets another $8 an hour, but now he has to pay $7 a gallon for gas, his rent goes up 25% and his grocery bill goes up 30%. His smokes now cost him $25 - if the government hasn't banned them outright. In short order, he is back to where he started, if not out of work completely, since his burger joint is forced to close for lack of business. But hey, now the socialists are in charge. They will fix it.
Its almost as ridiculous as someone believing higher wages, or government ownership of businesses, would change the climate.

And of course the obligatory call to action - "We need collective action channeled into militant nonviolent action." (Because most militant movements are nonviolent.)
Social justice, sustainability, and climate justice, are all code words for redistribution of wealth, population control, and socialism. The antidote for poverty is not to make everyone equally destitute. The solution is freedom. Capitalism, the idea that people are free to buy, sell, save, and invest as they see fit, produced the most prosperous nation in the history of the planet in less than 200 years. America has the richest "poor" folks in the world. The spread of economic prosperity is only hindered by government interference, regulating or taxing businesses to the point of extinction. When government bureaucrats pick winners and losers, everyone loses.
The ideas behind those three code words have launched some of the most demonic pogroms in world history - eugenics, population control, and in the future, the grotesquely named Complete Lives System, which allows the state to ration health care, picking life's winners and losers.
The only way to achieve what these marchers ultimately want - their idea of a Utopia, is a massive and oppressive global state that micromanages every detail of your existence, and even life itself. Their mythical sustainable world would require a final solution to weed out the "undesirables" and thin the herd. Only then will Mother Nature be happy again.
Frankly, I prefer the way they did it on Logan's Run. Oddly, many of the protestors wore similar clothes to those seen in the film.

One of the silliest claims put forward by warmanistas is the notion that more human activity - you know, like people exhaling, causes more destructive and frequent storms. Its hard to fathom how any sane person could believe this nonsense. And its even harder to imagine that people who supposedly care about the environment would confuse climate and weather. But I digress.
In my previous post, I linked to a report showing how hurricanes have not increased in frequency or intensity, much to Al Gore's dismay. Now I want to share another inconvenient truth - tornadoes are at an all time low. At the current pace, there may be less than 1000 tornadoes for 2013 - currently 797 through November 2, 2013. Compare that to the 2194 (2008) and 2122 (through November 2, 2008). That SHOULD be good news. Who wants destructive weather, right? I can only imagine how this will be spun as proof that global warming continues.
And the bad news for the warmanistas keeps coming. There has been A 17 year pause in warming that some suggest might continue for another 30 years - as if anyone really knows anything for sure. Either way, the idea that a one or two degree fluctuation in either direction was somehow catastrophic, has always amused me.
Human activity has very little impact on global climate. And he has absolutely nothing to do with making the weather "angry" - whatever the heck that means to the left. But let's play along with the idea that man is somehow responsible for making the weather mad. If that is the case, it would seem we've made it so mad, its locked itself in its room.
The warmanistas cling to their hockey stick charts and climate models as if their very salvation depends on them. With every failed prediction - an ice free Arctic, more dangerous and frequent hurricanes, skyrocketing temperatures, they flail away with excuses as to why the climate does not behave as the climate charlatans predicted. Its almost comical, if it weren't so deadly serious. The last few weeks there have been numerous setbacks for global warming "believers" both here and abroad. All these stories give me hope that the world is waking up. Australians voted in large numbers for new leadership primarily as a rejection of the climate tax hysteria. This should lead to a meaningful reduction in the spiraling costs of just about everything down under. In Europe, the climate scam has been devastating to the region. Germans pay almost 3x per kilowatt hour compared to Americans. Naturally, these asinine policies have led many businesses to move or expand elsewhere. Since Americans have largely resisted the climate taxes, we have attracted businesses because of lower energy costs. This is in spite of the sputtering economy, and the looming threat of Obamacare. This shows how much more of a threat carbon taxes are to an economy as compared to socialized medicine. Neither scheme solves anything. And they both are an egregious attack on individual freedom. However, taxing energy consumption, or CO2 production, gives government permission to literally regulate, forbid, or tax every aspect of human existence. The Global Warming Scam is one of the biggest threats to freedom ever imagined. In the Fall 2013 edition of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, MIT Professor Richard S. Lindzen, Ph.D. said,
Global climate alarmism has been costly to society, and it has the potential to be vastly more costly. It has also been damaging to science, as scientists adjust both data and even theory to accommodate politically correct positions.
Climategate opened a lot of eyes to the corruption in the scientific community all over the world. The warmanistas are fond of labeling anyone that dares to speak against their belief system as being owned by Big Oil. The irony is that if your sugar daddy is Big Government, you are far more likely to have your science compromised. Its very doubtful that any big progressive government will spend a dime in support of any scientific effort that undermines the state's position. Those carbon taxes guarantee that the last bit of wealth in private hands gets transferred to the governing elites. They are not about to let go of that revenue stream no matter what damage it does to the economy. In Lindzen's article he presents an image (Figure 1) that shows the problem with Global Warming in a nutshell. Scientists make ambiguous or meaningless statements on climate change. Activists spin these into alarming statements. I would add that the media takes these, along with any weather anomaly, and scares the public unnecessarily. And then politicians do their damage by passing unconstitutional laws and raising taxes in the name of saving the earth. They then provide even more funding to scientists to continue the corrupt cycle.
Lindzen ends the article with a statement I heartily agree with,
Global Warming has become a religion. A surprisingly large number of people seem to have concluded that all that gives meaning to their lives is the belief that they are saving the planet by paying attention to their carbon footprint.
Its sad but true. A whole generation has been raised on environmental propaganda based on some very bad science. The adults of today, were the kids yesterday, who were told daily that Mommy was killing Polar Bears because she drove an SUV. They are suffering under the delusion that somehow, modern life is contributing to the destruction of the planet. The indoctrination is so strong that some see humans as a parasite, sucking the very life out of the planet. Lies like that can only come from the pit of Hell. And the only way they can find some sort of peace is a sacrifice to mother earth. We're just one great leap forward away from progressives launching Carrousel, where those that turn 30 (or others deemed undesirable) are vaporized. Save the planet, right? As the scam unravels, governments scurry to keep the nightmare alive. The upcoming UN report from the IPCC is already being criticized by governments because it undermines the cause. Truth does not matter to them. All that matters is that government continues confiscating all the wealth possible, while causing unnecessary hardship for the people of the world, especially in developing nations that need energy. This has gone long, so I will wrap it up with this great video. Few people have really looked at the cost and benefit of fighting global warming. As we have seen in so many political/social wars - on poverty, drugs etc., we rarely win. Instead, we waste trillions in the process, and in the case of poverty, simply turn the proverbial safety net into a hammock. So what is the cost/benefit of a global warming war? Topher Field shows that it is 50 times more expensive to try and stop global warming than it would be to make changes and adapt to the higher or lower temperatures if it happens. Quite frankly, it is just as likely, based on reduced sunspot activity, that we may be heading into a prolonged cooling phase. But they already tried to sell that in the 70s, and it didn't sound scary enough. Enjoy!
Far too many folks have used fear or a crisis to promote their agenda. If you are led to believe that driving your SUV is killing polar bears, well naturally, you would be inclined to not drive your SUV. And if the "experts" claimed that by implementing some cap & tax scheme, you could thwart the apocalypse, naturally you would be willing to comply, no matter what the cost to the economy or your family.
But what if all those predictions were not just wrong, but downright deceitful? That has been my concern from day one. The outlandish claims of an Arctic without ice, or Florida under water, or Polar Bears disappearing, should have been dismissed immediately by the general public as gross distortions. The idea that creating a trading scheme, taxing energy of all things, would somehow change the GLOBAL climate and grow the economy should be laughable to anyone with a basic understanding of economics. And yet there are still people pushing these same lies and schemes. Makes you wonder why?
With Hollywood, the media and far too many politicians going all-in for the global warming agenda, its nice to see more scientists pushing back. The latest effort is a full length documentary called The Boy Who Cried Warming. You can watch the film in its entirety at the link. It is free and I would recommend turning off the HD option unless you have a super fast connection.
The film is a good exploration of the global warming claims, and the agenda behind some of the lies. It is certainly not a purely scientific presentation. Neither is it agitprop like that laughable Al Gore "Truth" film educators sometimes force students to watch. Even a climate novice or student will get some value from this film.
Some of the issues addressed include:
- What science really is
- The Polar Bear myth
- Historical temperature record and its distortion by global warming believers
- C02's importance to life
- Larger forces (beyond man's control) that influence climate - Sun, Earth's movement, water vapor
- Politicization of science and government bodies like the IPCC
- Devastating consequences of Cap & Trade and other government solutions
Here is a preview. I encourage everyone to watch the entire film and share the link with your friends. You must inoculate yourself against this policy by panic. If you don't, politicians will force solutions on you that steal your freedom, and fix nothing.
