When those 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence over 200 years ago, they were considered traitors by the British. Many of them were wealthy and respected in their communities. Throughout the war several lost their lives, families and fortunes. But none lost their resolve that what they did was, and always would be the correct course of action. Oh, if they could only see the great country that grew from their courage!
As we celebrate another Independence Day, let us never forget their courage. May they always inspire future generations to always be fearless in the face of evil. May future leaders' courage in the time of crisis be as steadfast as our Founding Fathers!
